PORT DEPOSIT, Md. (WJZ) — Maryland State Police investigate a horrifying crime that’s rocked a small Cecil County community. Three brothers are charged with killing their stepfather.

Two of the brothers are just 11 and 14-years-old.

Police say the victim lived in the home with his wife and her five children and what came in as a medical call now appears to be a family slaying involving two young boys.

Authorities say brothers Willy Woodberry, 14, and Alishawaine Monk, 23, with the help of their 11-year-old brother, who’s not being identified, murdered their stepfather.

“It’s just crazy,” said neighbor Dante Boyd.

On February 17, police responded to a medical call at the unit block of Green Lane near Port Deposit. That’s where they found 47-year-old Vincent Robertson gunned down inside a mobile home.

VALLEJO, Calif. —

A 43-year-old parolee was booked on suspicion of murdering a woman in a violent attack Saturday morning in Vallejo that also seriously injured the victim's 5-year-old boy, a police spokesman said.

At 1:52 a.m. the Vallejo Police Department received a call about an assault inside a residence in the 2000 block of Marin Street west of Sonoma Boulevard, according to police Capt. James O'Connell.

When officers arrived, they found a 5-year-old boy and his 40-year-old mother injured from an apparent violent attack.

The boy was taken to the trauma center of a Bay Area hospital where he is expected to survive, O'Connell said.

His mother was transported from the scene for emergency treatment but she died on the way to a hospital, he said.

Police officers and detectives obtained information about a suspect in the assault and broadcast the information to officers in the field.

At 8:41 a.m., a Vallejo police officer saw the suspect on a street in East Vallejo and took him into custody.

Daryl Wakefield, of Vallejo, was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, O'Connell said.

Officers confirmed that Wakefield knew the female victim.

Wakefield is on parole for a burglary conviction and has a violent criminal history, according to O'Connell said.

The identify of the woman is being withheld until family members are notified.

CHARGED: 44-year-old Brown Deer woman allegedly stabbed her children over $20
Updated at 09:44pm, July 28, 2014

luckett.jpg

BROWN DEER (WITI) — The Brown Deer Police Department says a 44-year-old woman has been charged in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred on Friday, July 25th.

That woman is Deneice Luckett of Brown Deer.

Luckett faces the following charges:

first degree reckless injury – a felony
first degree recklessly endangering safety (two felony counts)
child abuse – intentionally causing harm – a felony
misdemeanor battery

Brown Deer police on Friday, July 25th responded to a 911 call at a residence in the 8000 block of North 67th Street in the Village of Brown Deer for reports of a stabbing. The suspect was the caller’s mother, who had already fled the scene on foot.

“A little bit after midnight there were two 911 calls received a the dispatch center reporting that the caller had been stabbed and he indicated his mother`s the one who had stabbed them,” says Lieutenant Lisa Kumbier, Brown Deer Police.

The criminal complaint filed against Luckett says the 911 caller, Luckett’s 16-year-old son, told a dispatcher he needed police and medical assistance immediately — saying “we are dripping blood all over the house.”

Upon arrival, officers found two victims, an 18-year-old and the 16-year-old.

“There was a struggle, and then mom left — ran to the kitchen and came back with a knife. There was a stab wound to the leg area and the other victim had some cuts to his head and face area,” Kumbier said.

Officials say the 18-year-old sustained a stab wound to his leg and the 16-year-old sustained cuts to his face and head area.

The criminal complaint against Luckett says the 18-year-old boy was rushed into surgery immediately upon his arrival at Children’s Hospital — as a vein in his leg had been severed during the stabbing.

The complaint says the 16-year-old boy was interviewed by investigators as he received medical treatment at Children’s Hospital.

The complaint says that boy told police that around 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 24th, the 18-year-old had spoken with his mother over the telephone. The conversation dealt with $20 that was missing from the 18-year-old’s bedroom dresser.

The complaint says when the 18-year-old returned home — he confronted Luckett about the missing money. The complaint says the 18-year-old returned to his bedroom, which he shares with the 16-year-old, and Luckett reportedly accused the 16-year-old of taking the 18-year-old’s side.

The complaint says Luckett picked up a ceramic cup and threw it at the 16-year-old boy — striking him in the head.

The complaint says Luckett pulled the 18-year-old out of the room, but he returned to make sure the 16-year-old was okay.

That’s when the complaint says Luckett grabbed a large knife from the kitchen, and returned to the bedroom. The complaint says Luckett stabbed both boys — and then fled the scene.

Luckett was later located in the City of Milwaukee and was taken into custody.

The complaint against Luckett says the 16-year-old required a total of 15 stitches to close two lacerations on his head. The 18-year-old sustained a three-inch stab wound to his left calf, which severed a vein.

Police spoke with the 18-year-old — who told them he was bowling with friends when he got a call from his mother — saying she had found $20 in the laundry — asking whether he had left money in his pockets. The 18-year-old told officials he received a second call from his mother afterwards — saying she was just kidding about the $20.

When the 18-year-old returned home, the complaint says he checked his dresser and discovered his $20 was missing.

That’s when he confronted Luckett about the money — according to the complaint.

The complaint says Luckett had recently returned from Arizona in June of 2014. Her sister is the legal guardian of the 18-year-old and 16-year-old.

Neighbors who know the boys are concerned and in disbelief.

“I don`t even know how to put it in words. When you`re a parent and another parent does that to one of their children, you have to wonder,” neighbor Paul Fine said.

Luckett was transported to the Milwaukee County Jail.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. -

A man charged with attempted murder after his ex-girlfriend was so severely injured with a hammer that she was told she could lose her eye has been added to the Rutherford County Sheriff's “Most Wanted” list.

The victim drove herself to Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital after she says she was attacked in her Shoreham Street driveway around 4 a.m. Sunday.

The Murfreesboro woman told officers she fell asleep inside her car at her home and woke up as Steven Akins, 27, was walking toward her.

Due to an alleged violent history with Akins, the victim, who has filed at least three domestic violence complaints in the past, told police she attempted to start her car and drive away, but Akins began striking her car with a hammer.

Once he shattered the window, Akins allegedly continued swinging, hitting the victim several times.

The victim told police Akins stated, “That’s what you get for talking crazy.”

Murfreesboro police reports indicate that after arriving at the hospital, medical officials stated she could likely lose her eye. Officers said the woman was then transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center for further treatment.

A 32-year-old Detroit man will be in court Tuesday to face allegations that he jumped on his pregnant fiancee's abdomen and caused a miscarriage.

Jason Daniels could face life in prison on charges of assaulting a pregnant woman intending to cause a miscarriage, assaulting a pregnant woman causing great bodily harm to an embryo or fetus, assault with intent to do bodily harm less than murder and aggravated domestic violence. The charges stem from an incident on March 8 at a Pittsfield Township motel.

According to a police report obtained by The Ann Arbor News through a Freedom of Information Act request, police went at 3:06 a.m. March 12 to the Motel 6, 3764 S. State Circle, to investigate a report of a woman who had a miscarriage in the bathtub of her hotel room.

The woman, whose name is not being released because she is a domestic violence victim, said the miscarriage took place about 11 a.m. on March 11, but she didn’t call for an ambulance until 2:54 a.m. March 12. Police were called about 10 minutes later.

“Upon entering the bathroom, I observed a small deceased fetus inside of the bathtub,” wrote Officer Kyle Erskine in the report, “with formed human features making it identifiable as a human fetus.”

Cedar Rapids man arrested in Sparks murder

AR-140909895.jpg&MaxW=600&MaxH=420

Story Updated: Sep 4, 2014 at 10:44 PM CDT

CEDAR RAPIDS — Darlesha Flowers called him brother. Her daughter called him uncle.

On Thursday, Flowers learned that man — 23-year-old Robert L. Nash IV, of Cedar Rapids — was under arrest for the death of Clifton Sparks, the father of her 5-year-old daughter.

Flowers, who learned of Nash’s arrest for first-degree murder and first-robbery from members of Sparks’ family, was hit hard by the news.

“I called him my brother,” Flowers, crying, said of Nash. “I knew him for years. I talked to him after (Clifton) died. He hugged me and my daughter and told me he was sorry this happened.”

Flowers said she had no idea Nash was a suspect in the case, only that police had apparently searched his home at some point in the investigation. Flowers said she assumed it was because Nash was one of the last people Sparks spoke with before his death in February 2014.

Sparks, 31, was found dead in street in the 1800 block of B Avenue NE at 12:30 a.m. Feb. 4. Police — who have previously been tight-lipped about Sparks’ cause of death — said the man was shot once in the chest. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said their investigation showed that Nash had robbed and shot Sparks around 11:40 p.m. Feb. 3.
