CHARLOTTE, N.C. - The man accused of stealing an ambulance before crashing it into cars in an east Charlotte parking lot is now behind bars.

Jacquez Fields is the man police said caused so much damage on April 1 inside Monarch Mental Health on Executive Center Drive before running outside, jumping on several cars and then hopping into an ambulance while paramedics were in the back with a patient.

They were able to jump out before Fields drove off and crashed into three cars.

Bystanders recorded the shocking video and shared it with Channel 9.

DURHAM, N.C. (WTVD) -- The STAYUMBL license plate is notorious on the road and social media.

Folks say the driver behind the wheel will speed up, cut people off and then slam on her brakes, sometimes causing a crash.

A Durham school bus driver recently whipped out her phone and started recording when she found herself in a standoff with the person she calls a notoriously aggressive driver.

"I finally found her y'all, I finally found her," Jacquanna Barrett-Lewis was heard saying on the recorded video posted to social media.

"She comes flying from behind me, over to the next lane right in front of me, and starts tapping on brakes immediately," Barrett-Lewis told ABC11 on Thursday.

She says the driver had her cell phone out the window the entire time and was recording the incident.

"She's crazy," Barrett-Lewis said. She had just finished dropping off her last student before the incident. "I had dropped them off thankfully, thankfully."

Diana Mems is facing charges after the video went viral. Apparently she's known to officers.

The Durham Police Department says she's been involved in 31 wrecks since 2000 and they have received numerous complaints over the last six months.

A Baton Rouge woman who officials say has four DWI arrests since 2009 was arrested again Monday after she allegedly crashed a car, tried to carjack someone and told authorities that she was smoking marijuana all night.

Ettenna L. Kelly, 43, struck a fence and tree while driving in the 9100 block of Highland Road, according to arrest records. A 911 caller said the woman was naked and that someone gave her a gray sweater.

Police then got a call about an attempted carjacking on Highland near Staring Lane. The police report says Kelly, got into a vehicle, grabbed the steering wheel multiple times and struck the driver, who was able to drive off and call police near Highland Road and Lee Drive.

Officers eventually caught up with Kelly when her daughter called police, saying her mother showed up to her Highland Road apartment with cuts on her hands and legs, according to the arrest report.

At the apartment, Kelly told authorities she had been smoking marijuana "all night long" and admitted to hitting and trying to grab the steering wheel from the attempted carjacking victim.

CROSS COUNTY, Ark. — A man and woman with a baby in their vehicle were arrested after a wild chase near Wynne, Arkansas that involved an SUV full of drugs pulling a trailer full of stolen motorcycles.

According to the Cross County Sheriff’s Office, it started Thursday afternoon when a deputy tried to help the occupants of a black Suburban hauling a motorcycle trailer pulled over on the side of Highway 64 east. When the deputy put on his lights, the man inside jumped into the driver’s seat and took off.

The deputy followed the Suburban as it sped up and crossed over the center line. At one point, the driver left the road and drove through a yard, circling a house. By the time the SUV entered the Wynne city limits, another deputy joined the chase, but the driver of the SUV hit that deputy’s car, and the other deputy slammed into the trailer.

Deputies eventually caught up to the Suburban and hit its driver’s side door with a police vehicle after the man drove about 800 yards through a field and stopped to try to unhook the trailer.

A search of the vehicle revealed a loaded 9 mm pistol, heroin, crack cocaine, marijuana, synthetic marijuana (K2), and drug paraphernalia, authorities said. Of the six motorcycles in the trailer, four were found to be stolen out of Iowa.

Kelsey Bragg, 24, and Keyciyah Hughes, 24, both of Rock Island, Illinois, are in the Cross County Jail. Bragg is charged with five drug possession charges, endangering a minor, aggravated assault on an officer, resisting arrest, possession of a firearm by a felon and a host of other charges. His bond was set at $100,000. Huge faces drug and weapon possession charges, as well as a charge of endangering a minor.

Hughes’s 11-month-old baby was taken to a hospital to be evaluated for injuries, and was then placed in DHS custody.

A 2-year-old girl was struck by a pickup truck when she was crossing the street to go to church on Mother's Day, her family and officials said.

The driver fled the scene, but hours later a 26-year-old Newark man was arrested and charged in the case, officials said.

Eno Itoro  was critically hurt, but she is expected to survive, her father Jameson Itoro told NBC 4 New York as he returned from the hospital.

"She’s alive and that’s all I need,” Itoro said.

Romane Errol, Sr., was arrested and charged with causing serious bodily injury and driving without a valid license, said Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose. It wasn't immediately known whether he had an attorney.

Eno suffered multiple rib fractures, a double collapsed lung and lung lacerations, Ambrose said.

The family was getting ready to go to church across the street from their home on Brookdale Avenue in the Lower Vailsburg neighborhood when the father says little Eno ran outside by herself and crossed the street.

Some members of the congregation rushed from their pews to find Eno lying on the street.

“When we got out there, you know, it was just really emotional," said church member Carmelle Fils-Aime. "It was really disheartening to see but we have faith and we know that God will never let us down.”

Eno was conscious when police arrived and brought to University Hospital.

Police asked anyone with information to call 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).

TRENTON, N.J. (CBS) – A Mercer County grand jury formally charged a West Windsor man in a crash that killed a 20-year-old college student last year. Officials say 23-year-old David Lamar was indicted on aggravated manslaughter, death by auto and assault by auto following a 2018 accident that killed 20-year-old Michael Sot.

Sot, the driver of the Dodge Charger, was killed and his five passengers were injured. Lamar’s passenger was also injured in the accident.

“The indictment states Lamar caused Sot’s death by disregarding the speed limited and/or drinking while intoxicated and/or crossing over the double lines,” read a statement from the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office.

The indictment is a result of an investigation by the Ewing Township Police Department and the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office Serious Collision Response Team.

Ex-Massage Envy worker charged after plowing car into Raleigh business, police say

RALEIGH, N.C. (WNCN) — A former Raleigh Massage Envy worker is now charged after police say she rammed her car into the store last month.

The incident happened on July 17 and the car heavily damaged the store, located at 8357 Creedmoor Road.

Unikia Dene Lee, 29, of Charleston park Drive in Raleigh was charged assault with a deadly weapon – intent to kill.

Lee was arrested Friday and also charged with injury to personal property.

Officials confirmed the person who drove the vehicle into the business is a former employee.

911 calls released by Raleigh police appear to show a manager attempted to talk with an employee but that employee refused and became belligerent.
:bongo:
A 911 caller says the employee pushed a computer off a counter and ransacked the business.

As the employee left the building, coworkers locked the door.

The employee attempted to get back inside but left again once she learned the doors were locked.

The caller said that was when the employee plowed her vehicle into the business.

Real-Life Fantasy Turns Wild With Chase By The Ocean
August 3, 2019 at 11:06 pm

Chase-By-The-Ocean.jpg

PLAYA DEL REY (CBSLA) — Police pursuits are often described as wild. Saturday’s was wet and wild.

A pursuit of a suspect started in South LA and ended up with the suspect driving on the beach at Playa del Rey. The suspect eventually ditched the vehicle and jumped into the water to try to evade capture.

Police jumped right in after him.

CBS2/KCAL9’s Cristy Fajardo reported from Playa.

This one wasn’t just wild. It was downright bizarre.

Neighbors told her if you’re trying to evade police, this might be the worst place you can come.

On one side of the street, a series of speed bumps and dead ends. On the other, you have sand and beach.

In this case, the suspect chose option number two.

First he drove down a bike path. Then he drove onto the beach with people grabbing children and blankets to get out of his way.

One witness said he heard the suspect yelling at people as he drove by.

Then he drove through crashing waves. After his car got stuck in the sand, he tried to get away by wading into the water.

He then appears to drink a beer and that’s when officers went into the water to drag him out.

The LAPD says the chase started when they tried to pull over the suspect in what they believed was a stolen vehicle.

Bloods gangbanger gets 27 years for fiery crash in stolen Camaro that killed five

Jamel Turner appears in front of Judge Camacho after killing five people after crashing his car.
Victor Alcorn

A drugged-up Bloods gang member who killed five people when he slammed into them with a stolen car on Valentine’s Day was sentenced to 27 years in prison Tuesday.

Jamel Turner, 25, was high on marijuana on Feb. 14 when he plowed a stolen Camaro into a Mazda at 154 mph, killing it’s four occupants and his own passenger, who was ejected from the car.

Turner apologized during the sentencing, whining that “I lost a best friend in this.”

But a judge wasn’t buying it.

“I wish I could believe you,” replied Judge Fernando Camacho, adding he believed that Turner only said he was sorry because it was convenient for him.

The sentencing was delayed twice Tuesday, because Turner put in a last-minute motion to vacate his plea — but Camacho denied it.

After the sentencing, Suffolk County District Attorney Timothy Sini called Turner a depraved individual.

“Those lives were lost for one simple reason because of the dangerous, reckless, depraved actions of Jamel Turner,” he said. “Turner was also driving high on marijuana. So high that the medical examiner said it was this second highest level of marijuana that they’ve ever seen in a living specimen…He all but guaranteed the death of other motorists… He’s an absolute menace and disgrace of a human being.”

Chester Man Charged With Murder After Running Over 2 Women At Tinicum Gas Station, Prosecutors Say
By CBS3 Staff
August 23, 2019 at 6:30 pm

MEDIA, Pa. (CBS) — A Chester man has been charged with murder after prosecutors say he ran over two women, killing one, at a Tinicum Township gas station. The Delaware County District Attorney’s Office announced the arrest of 36-year-old Daniel Williams on Friday.

Prosecutors say Williams struck 26-year-old Shantel Harmon with his pickup truck and then ran her over again at the Sunoco Service Station located at 15 Industrial Highway shortly before 9 p.m. on Aug. 22.

Authorities say surveillance video showed Harmon running through the parking lot toward the front of the gas station screaming before Williams hit her with his truck. Williams then backed up and drove forward into the store while running Harmon over and hitting a second woman in the process.

Williams then fled the scene. A witness followed Williams into Chester while providing a description and the truck’s tag number to police, prosecutors say.

When officers arrived in the area, they discovered Williams’ truck parked in an alley on the 500 block of East 8th Street.

The truck had heavy front-end damage with blood on the passenger side, prosecutors say. Williams was apprehended in the area, where he was hiding under a vehicle.

Arresting officers discovered a Visa credit card in the name of Harmon in his wallet.

The second victim was taken to an area hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.

Williams has been charged with criminal homicide, murder in the first and third degree and two counts of aggravated assault, among other charges.
