Here’s one suspect who won’t be too hard to recognize.

Two men — including one wearing a bold black-and-white stars-and-stripes get-up — robbed a 29-year-old man as he was walking home in Brooklyn just after midnight June 7, police said.

“Run your pockets, f—-t,” one of the thieves said to the victim on Brevoort Place near Franklin Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant, according to cops.

Police are still looking for the duo, who grabbed the man’s cellphone and ran off toward Lefferts Place.

PINE BLUFF, Ark. (KATV) —

A Pine Bluff thief who stole a woman's purse at a gas station was arrested two days later when he used one of her stolen cards at a restaurant where she was waitressing.

On Sunday, Flora Lunsford parked at a gas station at the intersection of Dollarway and Hutchinson in Pine Bluff and went in the store. While she was inside, a man broke into her vehicle and stole her purse.

Surveillance video showed Lunsford pull up to the store while the suspect was also at the pumps. When she goes inside, this suspect goes to her vehicle, steals her purse and gets back in his car without paying for gas. Police say he drives to the side of the store, where another man who shoplifted a drink from the gas station gets in the car and they drive away.

On Tuesday, Lunsford was working as a waitress at a local business two blocks from where the theft occurred and a man she was serving handed over a card to pay for his meal. When Lunsford went to ring it up, she looked at the card and saw her own name. :rolleyes:Instead of swiping the card, she called police.

The suspect, 21-year-old Shamon West, was put in handcuffs and was also found with Lunsford's driver's license, social security card and her other credit cards.

Man Accused Of Breaking Into Home, Renting It Out As His Own
June 22, 2018 at 8:00 pm

nassau-fake-landlord.jpg

TOWN OF HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) – A man is accused of breaking into a vacant home in Nassau County and renting it out, collecting thousands of dollars in the process.

Police said 32-year-old Vernon Glass broke into the house on Rosedale Road in North Woodmere in April. He allegedly changed the locks, turned on the electricity, moved in himself and then rented a portion of the property to three other people, claiming to be the landlord.

Glass fraudulently collected $9,600 in rent from April 1 to June 21, authorities said.

Police said the scam unraveled when a friend of the real homeowner, who was watching the house for him, noticed unfamiliar cars in the driveway and that the keys to the house no longer worked.

When the homeowner found out, he went to the house and knocked on the door. Glass answered and allegedly claimed he was the homeowner.

BERKELEY (KPIX) – Laptop thieves have been hitting Bay Area cafes over and over again, but surveillance video helped catch on
e suspect.

The video of a robbery last Tuesday shows a man slowly ambling into Cafe Strada on the edge of the UC Berkeley campus. He puts his arms in the air, as if to say he’s innocent. Then he snatches a laptop and hustles out to a waiting getaway car.

“He steals it quickly and runs away,” says Byron White of the Berkeley Police Department.

White says his snatch-and-grab method is not unique.

“It’s not uncommon. In fact, we’ve had 36 this year,” says White.

Police arrested 20-year old Kenneth Anthony Hendon with suspicion of robbery thanks to eyewitness descriptions. But White says there may be several other bands of bandits, all working independently of each other.

FRESNO, Calif. (KFSN) --
Crystal clear surveillance video shows how a group of young men made off with a small fortune worth of Apple products.

The four only needed mere seconds to steal 26 items totaling $27,000 Saturday morning at the Fresno Apple Store inside Fashion Fair Mall.

Lt. Mark Hudson of the Fresno Police Department says the group took, "Various iPhones, the iPhone 6, iPhone 7 and 8, and even the new iPhone X was taken in this grand theft."

Just as quickly as they arrived, the young men in hoodies wasted no time, ripping out the tethered electronics from display tables throughout the store as customers and Apple Store employees looked on.

One of the thieves, with an arm full of laptops, scurried past a group of frightened teenage girls.

"One customer stood by the door to prevent them from leaving but was knocked out of the way," said Lt. Hudson. "Right now we are looking for four, or five, we believe there was a getaway driver, black males anywhere from 16 to 18 years old."

According to police, the suspects never displayed any weapons.

Investigators are reviewing the surveillance footage from the inside the store to see who the young men are, and if the crime might be connected to a similar robbery in Downtown San Luis Obispo last month.

ST. LOUIS - Central West End's St. Louis Racquet Club is looking a little different these days. The domed arch over the side doorway is just a wooden skeleton. Its copper cover was stripped away and the copper on the awning to its right was cut away and curled.

The suspects, Fredrick Townsend and Meiah Marshall, were each charged with stealing $25,000 or more of copper.

According to charging documents filed in St. Louis, police responded to a suspicious persons call at the closed down Marshall School where they found Townsend and Marshall with a U-Haul matching the description of prior thefts. Court documents show that inside the U-Haul, police found a large piece of copper that was taken from the St. Louis Racquet Club along with tools used to commit metal thefts.

Authorities said surveillance video from the racquet club even shows Townsend and Marshall show up in a U-Haul and approach the building on multiple occasions between June 11 and July 9. The U-Haul's plates matched the one located at Marshall School.

In March, Townsend was charged with stealing $750. Court documents said the stolen U-Haul he was caught driving linked him to a metal theft at Concordia Publishing House. Townsend was out on a $500 bond when he was arrested this second time.

Marshall allegedly told police she was with Townsend to stand watch while he “conducted his business.”

‘I Was Trying To Swing Into The Car’: Dealership Manager Dragged Several Feet As Woman Drives Off With Car
By David Spunt
July 12, 2018 at 11:58 pm

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – A Philadelphia dealership employee was dragged for several feet as a woman allegedly drove off the lot with a vehicle she had asked to see.

Police say it happened at the Central City Toyota dealership located at 4800 Chestnut Street, around 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

The woman asked to see a silver 2013 Dodge Dart that was parked in the lot area. That’s when police say Ont Ester started the car and drove off with it.

That’s when Jamie Haberle, the dealership’s general manager, was dragged several feet before falling to the ground.

“I’m actually happy that it happened to me and not one of my staff members,” said Haberle. “I had the driver’s side door open and I was leaning into the car going over features when she accelerated and went right around there.”

“I was trying to swing into the car to stop her because I didn’t want an accident to occur. I wanted to safeguard our property,” Haberle added.

Haberle eventually let go of the car when he got to the intersection of Chestnut Street. He was then rushed to the hospital.

“I broke my wrist, broke my nose. Got a little road rash but other than that I’m ok,” said Haberle.

The woman sped off south on 48th Street. Police almost had a break in the case.

“She showed up at a dealership within the city confines and then attempted to sell that car to another dealer. That dealer clearly watched different newscasts of it and called police right away and she ran out of the business and just jumped in the car and took off with it again,” said Lt. John Walker with the Philadelphia Police Department.

As detectives ramp up their investigation, Haberle says he’s glad to get back to work.

“Only job I’ve had in 25 years. I love what I’m doing. We have a long standing clientele of customers,” he said.

But first, he wants this criminal customer in custody.

“Why would you endanger another human life to take a brazen act of stealing a car from us? What desperate measure did you decide to take in order to endanger somebody?” said Haberle.

The suspect is described as a black female, 40 years old, wearing a white jacket with a dark-colored shirt underneath, white pants, and a brown head wrap.

The duo then hauled a large, dark refrigerator back outside, according to police.

Video shows one suspect holding each end of the appliance as they leave the home and head down the street.

The refrigerator belonged to a 39-year-old man who lived there, cops said.

Cops on Saturday identified the handcuffed prisoner who escaped police custody after he allegedly pilfered the SoHo Nike store with a female accomplice.

Derek Robinson, 39, along with Alice Scruggs, 21, were stealing items from the sneaker store  on Broadway near Spring Street around 7:20 p.m. Friday, cops said. The pair ran out of the store and darted down the block, where cops found them in front of the GUESS store.

Cops had handcuffed Scruggs and were handcuffing Robinson when he bolted, police said.

He ran north on Mercer Street, where cops lost sight of him.

Scruggs, of Cameron, N.C., was charged with possession of burglar tools, petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, cops said. She made off with two jerseys.

Robinson remained at large Saturday afternoon.

He is described as black, 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds with facial hair. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, high-top sneakers, and a blue and white shirt.

Cops arrested the fleet-footed sneaker bandit who gave them the slip while he was handcuffed Friday evening.

Derek Robinson, 39, was arrested about 11 p.m. Saturday night — more than 24 hours after he managed to escape police custody Friday, according to cops.

The tennis-shoe Houdini and suspected accomplice Alice Scruggs, 21, were busted on petit larceny charges near Spring Street and Broadway around 7:30 p.m. Friday for allegedly swiping pricey kicks from the SoHo Nike store.

A manacled Robinson slipped off as police were handcuffing Scruggs, who was charged with possession of burglar tools, petit larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.

But the North Carolina woman ultimately led investigators back to Robinson Saturday — the Manhattan DA decided not to proceed with the case against Scruggs, allowing cops to cut her loose and tail her back to a hostel where she was shacking up with Robinson, law enforcement sources said.

Following his re-arrest, Robinson was taken to the First Precinct station house and hit with petit larceny and escape charges.
