A sly  bandit swiped a wallet from out of an unsuspecting woman’s unlocked car while she was pumping gas in Brooklyn, cops said Tuesday.

The low-key theft happened just before 4:30 p.m. at a Shell station on the corner of Bedford and Willoughby avenues in Bedford-Stuyvesant, police said.

According to video released by the NYPD, the crook dismounted his bicycle on the sidewalk in front of the car and casually approached the gray vehicle’s passenger side while the woman was pumping gas on the opposite side, completely unaware of the crook’s presence.

While the woman was focused on the pump, the thief crouched down and looked through the passenger-side window, then opened the unlocked door and swiped the woman’s wallet, which had $50 and two credit cards in it, according to police and surveillance video.

The crook fled on his bicycle, cops said.

Troy — An Illinois man has been arrested in the theft of $51,000 in Louis Vuitton merchandise from a store last week, police said.

Troy police continue to seek two others in the theft.

Rollen Kenneth Ligon, 32, of Wheeling, Illinois, was charged Friday in 52-4 District Court in Troy with first-degree retail fraud, according to court records. A judge ordered him held on a $21,000 bond and scheduled a probable cause hearing for next week Tuesday. If convicted of the felony, he faces up to five years in prison.

According to authorities, three males entered the Louis Vuitton boutique inside the Saks Fifth Avenue store on West Big Beaver near Coolidge Highway at about 10 a.m. Thursday. The men grabbed merchandise and fled.

The store's loss prevention officers detained one of the men, police said. The two other men drove off in a rented Kia that was later recovered by Lathrup Village police. Several stolen handbags were found inside the car, officials said.

The man detained by the store's security officers was later identified as Ligon. Investigators said evidence indicates the thieves traveled from outside Michigan with the purpose of stealing merchandise at the Troy store.

A Shreveport man was arrested over the weekend and charged relating to the theft of nearly $300 worth of meat from a Shreveport Walmart earlier this month.

Eric Taylor, 49
, of Shreveport, was booked into the Shreveport City Jail on Sunday with charges of felony theft.

Earlier this month, investigators were notified of a theft that was reported at the Walmart located in the 1600 block of East Bert Kouns Industrial Loop on March 6. Store security cameras recorded a subject taking the meat, approximately $296 in value, and leaving the store without paying.

Taylor was later identified as the subject in the video, according to his arrest affidavit.

The theft charge was made a felony offense because of the number of Taylor's previous theft convictions, according to Shreveport police Cpl. Angie Willhite. The offense would have been a misdemeanor otherwise.

Taylor has a history of convictions relating to the theft of goods dating back to 2002:rolleyes:, according to Caddo Parish Court records. Records also indicate he pleaded guilty to an armed robbery in the late '90s.

One of his most recent convictions was earlier this year. He was arrested and charged in November 2019 for organized retail theft and pleaded guilty to the charge in February.
