Suspect charged in York Co. burglaries

YORK COUNTY, Va. (WAVY) - A 55-year-old man has been charged in connection to several burglaries along Route 17 in York County.

Deputy First-Class Mike Russell with the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office said deputies charged Paul Augustus Fuller of Wilson, N.C. in connection to nine burglaries and one attempted burglary.

The following crimes were reported on the mornings of July 17 or July 18 and all occurred in the nighttime or early morning hours:
• Bead Hair and Nail – 1200 block of Route 17
• China Ocean – 8000 block of Route 17
• Great Atlantic Spas – 1900 block of Route 17
• Adams Shoe Store – 5200 block of Route 17
• Becky’s Hallmark – 5200 block of Route 17
• Starbucks – 4400 block of Route 17 (listed as attempted burglary)
• Supercuts – 4430 block of Route 17
• Yorktowne Cleaners – 4430 block of Route 17
• Sherwin Williams – 4500 block of Route 17
• Dragon China – 5200 block of Route 17

Fuller is charged with nine counts of burglary, 10 counts of possessing burglary tools, five counts of grand larceny, four counts of petit larceny and two counts of misdemeanor destruction of property. He is being held on no bond in Wilson.

The investigation is still ongoing.

Suspects sought in $6,000 sneaker shop theft

PHILADELPHIA - October 15, 2013 (WPVI) -- Police are looking for the two men who stole more than $6,000 in merchandise from a Philadelphia store.

It happened at 2:20 p.m. on October 2nd at 1616 Wadsworth Avenue in the Cedarbrook section.

Police say the two men walked into the store while another man waited in a car outside.

Investigators say the pair pretended to shop, putting jackets and sweatshirts onto a clothing rack.

Then, the men grabbed the items and ran from the store into the waiting car.

The suspects, and their vehicle, were described by police as:

Suspect #1: Black male, 20 years-of-age, stocky build, wearing a black sleeveless t-shirt, camouflage pants, dark colored sneakers and dark colored baseball cap with a red brim.

Suspect #2: Black male, 20 years-of-age, medium build, wearing a dark colored t-shirt with a white colored emblem on the front, blue jeans, dark colored baseball cap and dark colored sneakers.

CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Imagine accidentally leaving an envelope with cash in it on a counter and returning to find it taken.

Cheektowaga Police say that's what happened to a customer of Five Guys Burgers in the Walden Gallera on September 16. The customer left the restaurant around 7:45 p.m. and mistakenly left the envelope containing $330 behind.

Now detectives are trying to track down a woman seen in surveillance video who found the envelope and left with the cash.

WAUKESHA (WITI) — Three men from Chicago are facing charges after they allegedly obtained cell phones and other accessories from two different Verizon Wireless stores in the Milwaukee area on October 11th while using other individuals’ account information.

The accused — 21-year-old Kyndall Barnes, 22-year-old Tyrone Mixon and 22-year-old Robert Robinson are each facing one count of identity theft. Robinson is facing an additional charge of identity theft and one count of obstructing an officer.

According to the criminal complaint, police were called to the Verizon Wireless on Sunset Drive in Waukesha on October 11th for a fraud-in-progress complaint. Verizon Wireless told police that two male subjects, later identified as Mixon and Barnes, had entered the store and were attempting to purchase cell phones under other peoples’ account.

When police arrived on the scene, they were advised that a third suspect, later identified Robert Robinson, was waiting in a getaway vehicle nearby.

Police say Barnes and Mixon were arrested at the scene after they received documents from Verizon Wireless that appeared to show that they defrauded another Verizon accountholder. Robinson was also taken into custody after a short foot pursuit.

A month-long investigation resulted in the arrest of a man who police say turned cars left on the side of the road into cash.

Egg Harbor Township Police arrested Byron White, 32, of Newtonville, N.J. Monday and charged him with five counts of motor vehicle theft in the township.


According to investigators, White took disabled vehicles parked along area roadways, stole the vehicles and sold the cars to a nearby Galloway Township salvage yard. Those cars were later reported stolen leading police to the investigation.

Officers arrested White while he was allegedly in the act of selling a stolen car at the junkyard.

BRADENTON, Florida (AP) - Some brazen thieves walked into a Bradenton pet store and left with $8,000 worth of snakes hidden in their hoodies.

Manatee County Sheriff's deputies are investigating the Monday afternoon theft at Petland Bradenton. The suspects got away with six snakes, including a 4-foot, red-tailed boa constrictor.

Stephen Benecke, one of the store's owners, told the Bradenton Herald surveillance video showed one suspect had the hoodie wrapped around his neck with the boa constrictor inside.

East Lampeter Township Police have identified two people, wanted for stealing thousands of dollars worth of TVs from Walmart. On October 16th, Shakur Latiff Brown, 39, and Michelle Denise McLemore, 45, both of Lancaster, were charged with felony and misdemeanor retail theft charges. Brown was charged with two felony counts of retail theft and McLemore was charged with one felony count and one misdemeanor count of retail theft. The thefts happened at the Walmart in the 2000 block of Lincoln Highway East in East Lampeter Township on Monday October 7th. Police say the pair put TV's in a cart, worth $2,194.00, and simply walked out of the store. Then, on Friday, October 11th, police say the couple stole one television, worth $998.00. Police are seeking information about the whereabouts of the suspects.

NOPD: Suspect sought in theft of computer from downtown hotel

New Orleans police released surveillance video of a man wanted in connection with the theft of a laptop from a conference room in a downtown hotel Wednesday afternoon.

Police said that around 12:30 p.m., a man entered the hotel and walked into a vacant conference room. He took a laptop computer, placed it in a black drawstring bag and walked out of the hotel with the property.

The man is described as 17 to 21 years old with braided hair. He was wearing a dark T-shirt, light pants and Converse tennis shoes. The video can be seen below.

(KMOV) – A former cooperate Schnucks employee is accused of stealing more than $38,000 from the company’s headquarters in Maryland Heights.

Police say Lolita Martin, 35, stole the money while handling various kinds of checks in the accounting department.

Investigators tell News 4, the theft went on for a year before she was fired in May.

WANTAGH (WABC) -- A Long Island bank teller is accused of stealing from one of his customers.

Police say 26-year old Osbourne Heron of Roosevelt forged withdrawal slips from an 82-year old customer at the Investors Bank in Wantagh.

Heron allegedly filled out slips and forged the victim's name on nine separate occasions between July 2013 and September 2013.

He's accused of stealing more than $32,000.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Seven Indianapolis women have been charged in a retail crime ring. The women are accused of working together to shoplift at retails stores, forming a criminal business association to get money.

Marion County Prosecutor Terry Curry announced the charges Friday following the arrests of five of the women Thursday morning.

The probable cause affidavit says the women called themselves the “Get Money Team.” Authorities say they have been identified in more than 20 reported retail theft incidents in Marion County and surrounding counties.

Authorities say the women have been charged with corrupt business influence and theft but also battery and criminal recklessness because of an incident where the women assaulted a sales clerk. The assault occurred after the clerk asked to look into a bag after the store’s security system sounded.

Two of the seven women are also charged with forgery, after investigators said they used counterfeit $20 bills for buying items.

Five women have been arrested. Two women have active warrants for their arrests.

The following women have been arrested and charged:

Francheska McGraw has been charged with corrupt business influence (Class C felony) and six counts of theft (Class D felony).
Apiphany Porter has been charged with corrupt business influence (Class C felony), battery (Class C felony), criminal recklessness (Class D felony), forgery (Class C felony), and seven counts of theft (Class D felony).
Kenya Matthews has been charged with corrupt business influence (Class C felony) and five counts of theft (Class D felony).
Latoya McGill has been charged with corrupt business influence (Class C felony) and five counts of theft (Class D felony).
Veronica Perry has been charged with corrupt business influence (Class C felony), forgery (Class C felony), and five counts of theft (Class D felony).

A Sacramento man was arrested after breaking into a marijuana dispensary near 19th and S Streets Saturday morning.

The Sacramento Police Department received a report of a burglary alarm around 3:30 a.m. Officers sped to the scene, where they found Rahshaunn:p Rucks, 21, inside the shop.

When he saw the officers Rucks retreated further inside the shop. K9 units arrived to the scene, though Rucks surrendered to police without incident before the dogs could be used.:(

Rucks was taken into the Sacramento County Jail for burglary.

GREENSBORO — Police said a Greensboro man caused up to $400,000 in damage when he took copper coils from rooftop air conditioners at Gander Mountain earlier this month.

Investigators arrested Chaka Demon Washington, 34, of 2610 Randleman Road, Apt. A, today in connection with the Oct. 10 thefts at Gander Mountain, 2223 Vanstory St., according to arrest warrants.

Rush Charged with Three Burglaries

Meridian, Miss.

Meridian police have charged a man in connection with two recent burglaries.

26-year-old Shacobee S. Rush of Meridian has been arrested and charged with two counts of residential burglary and one count of commercial burglary.

Investigators say the charges stem from burglaries that happened Oct. 9 and Oct. 14.

Police say Rush was arrested because someone saw something and said something.

His bond was set at a total of $150,000. police say more charges are pending.

Montgomery pair sought in Auburn thefts

MONROEVILLE, AL (WSFA) -
Several area law enforcement agencies are searching for a Montgomery man and woman wanted on multiple charges.

According to Crime Stoppers, Courtney Colley and Kalifth Johnson are suspects in several downtown Auburn car break ins Oct. 5. Police say the suspects used credit cards stolen during the break ins.

When Montgomery police tried to contact the suspects Oct. 15, Colley fled in her vehicle and tried to hit an officer, according to Crime Stoppers.

The pair are wanted on several charges, including parole violation, multiple breaking and entering of vehicle, multiple fraudulent use of credit cards and theft of property. Montgomery and Prattville police are trying to locate these suspects.

SALISBURY, Md.- Deputies with the Wicomico County Sheriff's Office arrested a man early Sunday morning for the theft of a stop sign at a Salisbury intersection.

According to authorities, the theft occurred at around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of Camden Avenue and Pine Bluff Road. Deputies found Abdi Michael Samuel Geleta, 21, in the home across the intersection, where they said he admitted to taking the sign and having it in his garage.

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -

Police are looking for a man they believe stole several packages of meat from a Kissimmee Publix Tuesday morning.

The suspect picked out his meat and started to walk toward the exit at the store on John Young Parkway, according to police reports.

A clerk then tried to stop him, but officers said the suspect brandished a box cutter, scaring the clerk into backing down.

Police in North Charleston are looking for a suspect after he is caught on video allegedly stealing scallops and red snapper.

The owners of Charlie Brown's Seafood on Rivers avenue say the suspect has been in the store before.

The incident happened on Saturday afternoon police say the suspect first wrapped up the red snapper and can be seen putting it into his pants. Then he is seen taking scallops out of the freezer and walking out of the store. According to the owners police have not made any arrests in the case.

(KMOV) – Police in Creve Coeur charged an employee of a medical practice on Thursday with stealing patients’ payments to the facility.

Chelsea Sleet, 30, was charged Thursday with felony stealing over $500 according to the Creve Coeur Police Department.

Between April and August, 2013, authorities believe Sleet stole more than $2,000 in cash from the business by misappropriating cash payments made by patients.

Sleet worked at the front desk of the medical practice, police said.
