LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — City Councilman Eric Garcetti Tuesday defeated current City Controller Wendy Greuel in the race to become the next mayor of Los Angeles.

With 100 percent of precincts reporting, 42-year-old Garcetti garnered 53.9 percent of the vote, according to the City Clerk’s office.

Garcetti will take office July 1, succeeding Antonio Villaraigosa.

After weeks of speculation, the disgraced ex-congressman made the announcement in a YouTube video late Tuesday.

“I made some big mistakes and I know I let a lot of people down, but I also learned some tough lessons,” he said in the video. “I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it my entire life. And I hope I get a second chance to work for you.”

Weiner resigned in June of 2011 in the wake of a Twitter scandal after lewd pictures he sent to at least six women surfaced. That prompted numerous calls from colleagues for the embattled lawmaker to step down.

He initially denied sending a salacious photo over Twitter, saying his account had been hacked. He then modified his story, calling it a prank. He eventually confessed that the photos were of him.

A long, hard look into Carlos Danger’s downfall

PARK CITY, Utah — By the hundreds they came — sorry, arrived — all of them jockeying for position — sorry, maneuvering for position — to get one of the Sundance Film Festival’s hardest tickets.

Let me start over.

Amid a festive, political-rally kind of a mood in Park City, with chirpy staffers handing out “VOTE WEINER” buttons, the documentary “Weiner” made its world premiere to tidal waves of laughter.

The movie amounts to the funniest funeral oration you’ve ever seen, as it buries longtime pubic official Carlos Danger, the disgraced former Brooklyn-Queens congressman who resigned his office amid one sexting scandal in 2011 and got 5 percent in the Democratic primary for the mayor’s race two years later after it became known that he had resumed his sexting.

Even though the film was made by a former Danger loyalist — ex-chief of staff Josh Kriegman — together with co-director Elyse Steinberg, the movie plays like a “Spinal Tap” of politics, complete with a hilarious scene of Danger, to a soundtrack of spy music, desperately sneaking through a McDonald’s and up a back stairway to avoid contact with Sydney Leathers, a sexting pal and aspiring porn star who was trying to meet him in person for the first time on the way to his concession speech on election night 2013.

“All this for a 23-year-old?” Leathers says to the cameras, unaware that Team Danger has given the elaborately planned episode the code name “Operation Pineapple.”

The Post is a co-star of the film (just send the check to 1211 Sixth Ave., guys), which features a dozen or so of our funniest front-page stories — in the trade, we call the cover the “wood” — as well as Danger’s end of a phone conversation with columnist Andrea Peyser.

“Let her get it out of her system,” is Danger’s reasoning about why he should do the interview — Meat the Press! — against the advice of his hapless publicist.

Initially planned as a supportive comeback doc, the Politico-meets-Penthouse film, which hits cinemas in May and Showtime in October, right before Election Day, instead features more absurd and inexcusable behavior than “Trainwreck.”

At the outset, Danger is promoting himself as a “fighter for the middle class.” (Cut to his swanky, $12,000-a-month Park Avenue South apartment, in which the kitchen alone could house a family of six.)

His hope is to portray himself as a policy guru who has learned his lesson and been honest about his mistakes.

As the news media start blasting out stories about “Carlos Danger” amid the 2013 mayoral race that Danger was winning, we check in on the deluge of jokes told by TV comics as well as the shellshocked mood inside Danger’s Fifth Avenue campaign office.

We are right there in the room with Weiner and his wife, Huma Abedin, a top aide to Hillary Clinton, immediately after the second group of quick pics of a Weiner who has misplaced his underpants hits the media.

Danger is all strategy smugness; his wife, trying not to betray any emotion while the cameras roll, stares daggers at him. When he finally, after many agonizing seconds, realizes her emotional temperature is about zero degrees Kelvin, he asks the filmmakers to step out of the room.

The movie makes it clear that both Dangers are utter phonies who place pursuit of power above all else. (One amusing moment features Abedin sweet-talking to a donor about the latter’s engagement on the phone, then hanging up and immediately switching to a hard-nosed discussion of the money.) Asked if Abedin was a key to his relaunch, Danger says, “She did. She was very eager to get her life back,” meaning get back in power.

Democratic Party staffers, we learn, worked for his campaign specifically because they wanted access to Abedin and hence Hillary. Danger is shown shamelessly playing for sympathy by inviting staff to his apartment for a damage-control meeting at which his baby crawls around in front of them, then literally wheeling the befuddled kid into a polling place on Election Day and standing the little one on a desk while preparing to vote for himself. The kid bursts into terrified sobs as photographers’ flashes go off.

The unstated implication is that everything in “Weiner” applies to the Clintons, only more so. When Danger reads an editorial defending him about all the things he didn’t do — didn’t rape anyone, didn’t sexually assault anyone, didn’t commit adultery, didn’t misuse his office, etc. — many of the allegations have credibly been made against Bill Clinton. (There is a minute or two of film considering news reports that Hillary might have demanded Abedin distance herself from Danger if she wanted to keep her job.)

Throughout the film, Danger displays an arrogance as swollen as his briefs, responding to a random detractor in a bakery who calls him a “scumbag” that “it takes one to know one,” then getting in a shouting match with the citizen. When his own polling expert tells him he has zero chance of victory and is bailing, Danger refuses to listen to reason and muses about saving himself via a “Bulworth” moment of unhinged hard-left appeals. He is seen chuckling at video of his disastrous, out-of-control interview with MSNBC host Lawrence O’Donnell, while a disbelieving Abedin asks, “Why are you laughing?” After his concession speech, Danger is photographed giving the finger to photographers.

Later, he has his only moment of true clarity in the film, when he says, “I can’t believe I gave the press the finger. I have this virtually unlimited ability to f- -k things up.” One of the filmmakers replies (in a line that drew huge laughs), “Why are you letting us film this?”

There’s even a brilliant cameo by Donald Trump, who is seen in a news clip saying, “We don’t want perverts elected in New York City. No perverts!”

“Weiner” has drama, laughs and surprises. It’s the full package.

Former Congressman Anthony Weiner says he has regrets about allowing documentary makers to tail him and has no desire to see the film about his ill-fated 2013 mayoral campaign.

“Weiner” debuted at the Sundance Film Festival over the weekend, offering a behind-the-scenes look at Weiner’s City Hall bid, which was derailed by a sexting scandal.

“It was surreal, it was surreal to be in the middle of it,” an ashen-faced Weiner said during his regular pundit gig on NY1’s political show “The Wise Guys” Tuesday night.

“Obviously, it was a brutally difficult time for me and my family that I brought upon myself. I’m not eager to relive it. So I haven’t seen the movie and even if it’s given free, I doubt I’ll be eager to watch it.”

He deadpanned: “Obviously, I know how the story ends and most of your viewers do as well.”

Weiner said he’s not happy that filmmakers focused so much on his wife, Huma Abedin, a confidante of Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton.

“The one regrettable element of it is the claim that it’s a movie about how crazy the media exploitation is,” Weiner said, “and then they’re exploiting the one or two scenes that my wife is in because she works for Hillary Clinton, so I kind of regret it. But I’ve come to … you know, there’s nothing I can really do about it.”

The movie was made by Josh Kriegman, a one-time district office chief of staff for Weiner, and Elyse Steinberg, best known for her 2008 work, “The Trial of Saddam Hussein.”

They were given incredible access to Weiner, in exchange for the campaign being able to use any footage for its own purposes.

Weiner finished fifth in the Democratic primary, with less than 5 percent.

He resigned from Congress in 2011 after it was revealed he had sent sexually explicit text messages to female supporters.

When Weiner attempted a political comeback by running for mayor, it emerged he was still sending dirty text messages, using the nom de plume “Carlos Danger.”

In the movie, Weiner said he didn’t mind allowing cameras to tail him.

“I don’t regret letting you follow me around,” he said. “I wanted to be viewed as the full person I was.”

First he was Carlos Danger. Now — in yet another sexting scandal — he’s a randy “mongoose.”

Sext fiend Anthony Weiner boasted of his animal prowess — claiming he was “deceptively strong . . . like a mongoose” — and gave his cellphone number to a college student during a flirty, private online chat on a recent trip to Los Angeles, The Post has learned.

But the joke was on the horndog pol, whose wife, Huma Abedin, is a top aide and close confidante of Hillary Clinton.

The target of his online affection was really a dude.

A young Republican-turned- “catfish” baited the disgraced former congressman into chatting about “strappy black heels” and “porn scenes.” Weiner even made a cornball double entendre about his “staff.”

“Funny scene here,” Weiner writes in one of the Twitter direct messages, sent from his hotel room in LA, where he had traveled to appear on HBO’s “Real Time with Bill Maher.”

“I moved the tv so I could hear/see it while in the shower. I dropped it. Neighbor complained. Me Towel. Tv. Floor. And now concierge on the way.”

The student, a New Yorker *using a female friend’s Twitter account and calling himself “Nikki,” responds, “Come out with just the towel on when he/she knocks, would pretty much = a tip for the concierge.”

Weiner answers, “This is definitely a porn set up.”

After “Nikki” says she is leaving work, Weiner embellishes his porn fantasy to include a concierge who is “wearing strappy black heels and just left work to come welcome me to LA.”

Weiner repeatedly refers to himself as a mongoose during the conversation and even posts a mongoose “selfie.”

When “Nikki” jokes about having a staff to get her Ubers, Weiner responds, “I’m pretty sure there’s a ‘my staff’ joke here.”

The flirtation comes to an end when he gives out his cellphone number and a way to find him.

“Text and I’ll hit that location button thing,” Weiner says, referring to a phone feature that lets users to share their locations.

Weiner admitted to the chat in an e-mail to The Post.

“I can confirm that I am indeed deceptively strong like a mongoose,” he wrote.

He also claimed it was a “playful joust with an obvious catfish” — a term for a prankster who poses as another person online to romantically lure a target.

The latest social-media fail could be an embarrassment for Adebin, who’s on the campaign trail trying to get Clinton into the Oval Office.

It’s the third time Weiner has been caught sexting. The first was a misfired sexually explicit tweet that led to Weiner resigning from Congress in 2011. The second incident, with Sydney Leathers, torpedoed Weiner’s 2013 mayoral campaign.

The “catfish,” who heads a *Republican club at his NYC-area college, called Weiner an easy mark.

“The first time was the charm,” he told The Post. All it took was to retweet one of Weiner’s posts and add a comment.

Within 20 minutes, Weiner *responded.

“The amount of effort this took was the most alarming thing given his history,” he said.

“I was trying to think how to get him to say something stupid without making it so obvious.”

Sext fiend Anthony Weiner is a registered Democrat — but his inner “mongoose” is apparently unaffiliated.

The disgraced former congressman and husband to top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin fired off suggestive messages last year to at least two women — one of whom is a prominent Republican and another who volunteered for a GOP political campaign, a source told The Post.

“Now that I don’t have the New York Post following me around maybe we can get together,” he allegedly wrote to the prominent GOPer, according to the source.

The woman brushed him off, said the source, who saw the alleged bawdy electronic exchange.

“It has nothing to do with The Post, it has everything to do with you,” she said.

“It always has to do with me, let me show you,” Weiner allegedly responded.

Weiner — who recently boasted in an online chat that he was “deceptively strong . . . like a mongoose” — allegedly sent the flirtatious messages to the woman over social media while working as a consultant for MWW Public Relations, two years after his mayoral bid flamed out because of his serial sexting.

The woman approached the source for advice on how to handle Weiner because the source worked with him at the time.

“She was disgusted, and she wanted to make political hay of this,” the source recalled. “But I said, ‘You don’t want your name attached or associated with this in any way.’ Nothing good ever comes with being associated with Anthony Weiner.”

The second woman, a volunteer on a 2014 GOP campaign, was asked by Weiner to meet up after she responded to one of his tweets.

Weiner lost his job at MWW in September 2015 after just two months. His boss, Michael Kempner, said Weiner’s presence was a “distraction” and not “helpful” to clients :blush:, The Post reported.

The latest claims follow other embarrassing exchanges that came to light last week.

Sydney Leathers, the woman whom Weiner sexted in 2013 *under the name “Carlos Danger,” told Page Six that Weiner in May reached out through Facebook and Skype to a new woman.

That woman, Leathers said, contacted her for advice. Leathers said she suggested that the woman not go public.

And on Friday, a male college student told The Post he “catfished” Weiner on Twitter into thinking he was a female student named “Nikki.”

Weiner imagined “Nikki” wearing “strappy black heels” and “tight clothes” and bragged he was “deceptively strong. Hehe. Like a mongoose,” in a July 27 exchange on Twitter while on a trip in Los Angeles.

Confronted Saturday morning outside his Union Square home, Weiner grew irate and offered up a bizarre conspiracy theory — that he had been framed by Rupert Murdoch, CEO of The Post’s parent company, News Corp.

“It was set up by you guys, obviously,” he told The Post as he clutched a Louis Vuitton bag in one hand and his son in the other. “It was totally busted, as well.”

“Another Murdoch setup!” he railed, as his wife walked stone-faced in sunglasses toward a parked Ford Escape SUV.

Asked why he gave his phone number over Twitter, Weiner said, “That was a way to bust you people,” before he got in the SUV and sped off.

The “catfish” insisted he had “no prior contact” with any media outlet about the messages.

“I had no intention of going public and just wanted to keep this a fun party story until I saw yesterday’s story [that] Weiner is up to his same old antics,” the “catfish” told The Post. “At the end of the day, he initiated the discussion and invited someone he believed to be a 20-something-year-old college female to his hotel room.”

Weiner insisted Saturday that he never sexted with the enemy.

“Are you asking me if I met with people while I worked at a government-relations/p.r. company?” he wrote in an *e-mailed response. “Of course, I did. I even met with New York Post reporters I’m sure.”

“My job was to buy people lunches and drinks etc.”

Earlier, he tried to get a rise out of Twitter over his shenanigans.

“How the hell is #Mongoose*VersusRupert’sCatfish not trending?” Weiner tweeted.

Anthony Weiner’s “mongoose” could take a bite out of Hillary Clinton’s chances at winning the White House, pundits told The Post on Saturday.

His latest high jinks undermine the Democratic presidential nominee’s credibility with voters while giving Donald Trump fodder to slam her judgment, observers say.

“Not satisfied with destroying his own career and humiliating his wife, he has allowed his own depravity to make his wife [Clinton adviser Huma Abedin] a politically liability,” said GOP political consultant Susan del Percio.

“Someone must stop Mr. Weiner from making television appearances and take away his phone.”

But Democrats disagreed. “[It’s] the husband of a staff person who for some reason Republicans have a fetish about ,” Democratic consultant Evan Stavisky said. A Clinton spokesman declined to comment.

Anthony Weiner says he feels no shame, admitting that his “emotional wiring isn’t fully connected.”

The former congressman, whose career and mayoral aspirations were torpedoed by his proclivity for sexy online chatter, said he’s survived years of tabloid disgrace with a hard shell that goes deep below the surface.

“To some degree, the same thing that made me successful and that allowed me to survive stuff is that my emotional wiring isn’t fully connected,” he told the New York Times in an interview published Tuesday.

He’s previously told makers of the documentary “Weiner” that politicians “are probably wired in some way that needs attention.”

“I have a very thick skin,” Weiner told the Times. “Without going down a rabbit hole here, you could argue that some of my emotional wiring wasn’t working terribly well. That is how I can survive having 40 cameras outside my house.”

In the same chat, Weiner also refused to say whether he’s still sexting.

“I’m not going to go down the path of talking about any of that,” Weiner said, before rationalizing that sexting is better than cozying up with Russian spies.

“But I will say this: There’s no doubt that the (GOP presidential nominee Donald) Trump phenomenon has led a lot of people to say to me, `Boy, compared to inviting the Russians to come hack someone’s email, your thing seems almost quaint.’ ”

The Post reported last week that a male college student posed online as a female named “Nikki” to draw Weiner into a sexy chat.

Weiner resigned his House seat back in 2011 after he posted pictures of his bulging crotch.

He attempted a comeback in 2013 before a woman he was sexting, Sydney Leathers, went public with her relationship with “Carlos Danger” — the persona Weiner used online.

Sexting fiend Anthony Weiner has apparently deleted his Twitter account.

The move comes after The Post exclusively reported Weiner had sexted a busty brunette — even sending along a picture of his toddler son in a lurid crotch shot.

“Sorry, that page doesn’t exist!” Weiner’s Twitter page reads when one tries to load it in a web browser.

Weiner resigned from Congress in June 2011 after accidentally sharing another lurid crotch shot on Twitter. His New York City mayoral campaign imploded two years later when more online sexual shenanigans surfaced.

Weiner’s the husband of Huma Abedin, the vice chair of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign.

This is baby-sitting — Anthony Weiner-style.

While his wife, Huma Abedin, travels the country campaigning for Hillary Clinton, the disgraced ex-congressman has been sexting with a busty brunette out West — and even sent her a lurid crotch shot with his toddler son in the picture, The Post has learned.

The stay-at-home cad shot the revealing photo while discussing massage parlors “near my old apartment” shortly after 3 a.m. on July 31, 2015, a screenshot of the exchange shows.

Weiner was clearly aroused by his conversation with the 40-something divorcee when he abruptly changed the subject.

“Someone just climbed into my bed,” Weiner wrote.

“Really?” she responded.

Weiner then hit “Send” on the cringe-inducing image, which shows a bulge in his white, Jockey-brand boxer briefs and his son cuddled up to his left, wrapped in a light-green blanket.

“You do realize you can see you[r] Weiner in that pic??” the woman wrote.

Moments after forwarding the photo, Weiner freaked out over the possibility he had accidentally posted it publicly — just as he did during the infamous episode that forced him to resign from Congress in 2011.

“Ooooooh . . . I was scared. For half a second I thought I posted something. Stop looking at my crotch,” Weiner wrote back.

“Whatever. You did it on purpose,” she replied.

“O I see you thought you posted on your TL [public timeline] not DM [direct message]. S–t happens be careful,” she added.

The object of Weiner’s affections is his polar opposite politically: a self-avowed supporter of Donald Trump and the National Rifle Association who’s used Twitter to bash both President Obama and Clinton.

Screenshots show the electronic chats began in late January 2015 and continued through earlier this month, according to the woman, who spoke to The Post on condition of anonymity.

And while Weiner repeatedly invited her to visit him in New York City, she said, “We never met.”

Asked for comment, Weiner admitted he and the woman “have been friends for some time.”

“She has asked me not to comment except to say that our conversations were private, often included pictures of her nieces and nephews and my son and were always appropriate,” he said.

But the picture featuring his son was one of more than a dozen selfies sent to the woman by Weiner, 51 — and most show him posing shirtless to flaunt his well-toned physique.

One is even a near-replica of the crotch shot that first turned him into a national laughingstock — except he was wearing white boxer briefs instead of gray ones.

Weiner wrote, “My mood . . .” before sending the overtly sexual photo on June 14, 2015, prompting the woman to respond, “O goodness.”

Many of Weiner’s messages show him bragging about his manhood and shamelessly lusting after the woman.

The latest online dalliance developed when Weiner began exchanging direct messages with her via Twitter following an online clash with a second woman, according to the gal.

As their conversation progressed, she mentioned having “over 30 nieces and nephews,” at which point Weiner responded by asking: “Wow. Got your own? (Weiner sees opening to ask about [your] status).”

When she tried to end the conversation by saying “it’s time for bed,” Weiner wrote back: “Sleeping alone? Asking for a friend?” before adding, “That was a fib.”

Weiner frequently steered the conversation toward sex, as many of their discussions initially involved such mundane topics as their respective workout regimens.

“I am always, uh, raging after the gym,” he wrote in one of several apparent references to his genitalia.

Another time, he wrote about how “Id [sic] put someone’s eye out with this thing. #Overdue.”

When the woman sent Weiner a selfie that showed her in a cleavage-baring, red lace dress, Weiner’s response was “Holy f–kity f- -k,” while another shot of her standing next to a woman at the same event prompted him to write: “Conjured some high school fantasies.”

At one point, she sent him a shot of herself wearing a pair of black tights with a rip in the rear, near the midline, along with the message, “Buns of steel.”

“I’ll need a bigger hole,” Weiner responded, adding a smiling emoji with its tongue sticking out.

The sext fiend also admitted to fantasizing about her, saying “guess who visited me in a dream last night/this morning . . . uh, you. obv.”

In another message, he blamed her for keeping him awake the previous night. “I did not sleep well . . . Horny as f–k,” he wrote.

When she suggested it was a “disease,” he wrote back: “You are a carrier.”

He even confessed to masturbating while thinking about her, calling her “literally a fantasy chick.”

“And I mean literally. So now you know how I got to sleep last night,” he wrote, adding a purple demon emoji.

After she sent him a cartoon image of a pump bottle of hand lotion and a box of tissues, he responded with a graphic, homemade text-and-emoji image of an ejaculating penis.

“OK…..Enough of that!! she wrote.

“Yeah. I taxed myself too much on that one. So anyway, what are you wearing,” he wrote back, adding a winking, tongue-out emoji.

Following his first sexting scandal, Weiner claimed to have undergone therapy, having sat down with Abedin for a 2012 People magazine interview in which he said he was happy as a stay-at-home dad. “The only next dramatic steps I’m planning on are Jordan’s first,” he said, in reference to their then-6-month-old son.

His purported rehabilitation led to an improbable lead in the polls for New York mayor in 2013 — until his candidacy collapsed amid revelations that he continued sexting behind the “Carlos Danger” pseudonym.

The latest object of Weiner’s sexting obsession is a woman with two grown children who lives with a boyfriend. She told Weiner that her significant other traveled for work and was only “in town about 10 days a month.”

At one point in their conversation, Weiner offered to take the object of his lust to one of the restaurants co-owned by his younger brother, Jason.

“Lets get together. I’m a big wheel in this town,” Weiner wrote.

Anthony Weiner’s latest sext scandal has cost him his last remaining gig as one of NY1’s “Wise Guys.”

The cable channel axed Weiner from its panel of political experts Monday following The Post’s revelation that he sent an online flame a lurid crotch shot that showed his little boy lying next to him.

Weiner “is on indefinite leave from the station,” a spokesperson said.

Earlier in the day, Weiner’s wife, Huma Abedin, also announced that she’d left him after nearly six years of marriage.

The disgraced Democratic pol was a mainstay of the weekly “Wise Guys” segment that airs on the Tuesday editions of “Inside City Hall” despite twice destroying his political career through online indiscretions.

Weiner resigned from Congress in 2011 after admitting he’d sent salacious selfies to at least six women, then saw his comeback campaign for mayor in 2013 go down in flames when it was revealed he compulsively resumed the activity using the pseudonym “Carlos Danger.”

In September, Page Six exclusively reported that Weiner was ousted as a consultant to the MWW Group public-relations firm after just two months on the job.

“He understands that his presence here has created noise and distraction that just isn’t helpful,” company chief Michael Kempner wrote in an email.

His departure came shortly after a top MWW exec bashed Weiner on Twitter and quit the firm.

A Huma Abedin versus Anthony Weiner divorce has all the makings to become the custody battle of the century, experts say — and could even involve child welfare investigators.

“The table is now set for a type of custody case that could go on longer than these two have been married and in an environment that is as ugly as any one’s imagination can bring to bear,” predicts Manhattan divorce attorney Bernard Clair, who represented Jason Hoppy in his contentious split from reality TV star Bethenny Frankel.

“If Woody Allen wrote this into a movie nobody would believe him,” added celebrity divorce lawyer Raoul Felder.

Clair, Felder and a third leading matrimonial lawyer agreed that there’s also grounds for a city child welfare probe into Weiner for sending a sexting partner a lurid crotch shot with his toddler son in the picture with him.

Clair says he expects a bitter custody battle because neither Weiner nor his now-estranged wife, top Hillary Clinton aide Huma Abedin, are ideal parents.

A judge would have to weigh, “Huma’s unavailability and heavy, out-of-the-home commitments versus a father who appears to lack every kind of parental judgement,” Clair says.

Felder, who represented former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani in his split from second wife Donna Hanover, notes that Abedin isn’t winning any ‘Mother of the Year’ awards.

“She goes away and leaves the child with this degenerate?” questions Felder.

“Who enabled him to do this? She’s an enabler just like Mrs. Clinton was an enabler,” said Felder, referring to the presidential contender’s refusal to leave her husband after he was unfaithful while in the White House.

Felder believes a custody fight over the 4-year-old would be “a toss up.”

As for an investigation by the city’s Administration for Children’s Services, Felder predicts that a probe is imminent.

“I believe ACS will start investigating now,” he said, adding. “He’s doing these things on camera and he brings his child into bed with him … I do know from experience with ACS that this is the thing that ACS would want to look at.”

Leading family law expert Michael Stutman, of the law firm Stutman Advocate Stutman & Lichtenstein, agreed that Weiner is a prime candidate for an ACS investigation because of “the child’s involvement in what appears to be very perverted behavior.”

“Inappropriate sexual acting out in a presence of a young child is an endangerment of that child,” Stutman said.

“One would certainly begin to be curious about what his problem are and how would they manifest themselves while he’s in the presence of a child,” Stutman said.

The July 2015 cellphone photo shows a clear outline of Weiner’s penis under a pair of white boxer briefs.

ACS does not comment on investigations. One Post reader said he reported Weiner to both state and city child welfare officials.

The experts say at least one major part of a divorce would probably be drama free — because both spouses have spent their careers in public service, there’s few assets to fight over.

Stutman explains that the unemployed stay-at-home dad, who has lost at least four jobs over his scandals, has a weak argument for alimony.

“There’s a young child that needs to be taken care of. And this is a man who’s perfectly capable of earning a living whether it is being grist for some talk show or driving an Uber,” Stutman said.

“I know Anthony Weiner well, and she will be far better off without him,” the Republican presidential nominee said in a statement.

The Donald said Clinton was endangering national security by apparently keeping Abedin while she was married to the ex-congressman with a penchant for sexting anonymous women.

“I only worry for the country in that Hillary Clinton was careless and negligent in allowing Weiner to have such close proximity to highly classified information,” he continued.

“Who knows what he learned and who he told? It’s just another example of Hillary Clinton’s bad judgment. It is possible that our country and its security have been greatly compromised by this.”

Abedin, a top Hillary Clinton aide, released a statement saying, in part, “I have made the decision to separate from my husband.”

But further texts obtained by The Post show the ex-congressman had been expecting that news. He told his sext buddy that his nearly six-year marriage had been “busted” by the scandals he had forced Abedin to endure.

The career pol, whose online antics caused him to lose his Queens congressional seat and then a mayoral bid, told the latest object of his lust that he didn’t expect to join Abedin in Washington, DC, if Clinton wins the White House in November.

During their very first exchange, on Jan. 23, 2015, Weiner asked the woman via a Twitter direct message about her “status.”

“Divorced after 16 years,” the 40-something answered.

“I kinda envy that path now that I have a 3 yr old and a busted marriage,” Weiner, 51, replied.

Then, on Nov. 17, 2015, the two engaged in a revealing discussion about Weiner’s future, with the woman, who was based out West, asking whether he would be “moving to DC” if Clinton becomes president.

“That is a very big Q. Honestly don’t know what she will do,” Weiner said.

When the woman insisted, “You’re moving!!!” Weiner sheepishly responded, “I doubt I am under any circumstances.”

Anthony Weiner was still wearing his wedding ring, but was not in a talking — or texting – mood Tuesday morning as he sped off in his SUV without answering questions by The Post.

The day after his wife, Huma Abedin, announced she was dumping the serial sexting ex-pol, Weiner was spotted near his Manhattan home while chatting on his phone.

Refusing to answer questions, he jumped in his Ford at 6 a.m. but waited for a garbage truck to move before he peeled off.

Weiner, 51, whose congressional career and mayoral aspirations went up in flames after his scandalous sextings, came clean to Abedin — Hillary Clinton’s top aide — after The Post reached him Sunday while the entire family was in the Hamptons, sources said.

He was forced to leave office in the summer of 2011 after it was revealed he sent provocative pictures of himself to women he met through Twitter.

The horny ex-pol, who vowed not to make the same mistakes again, launched a bid for New York City mayor two years later — but that campaign was doomed after a pretty, 23-year-old Indiana woman disclosed she’d had a racy online relationship with Weiner, who used the moniker Carlos Danger to continue his sexting ways.

The Post reported Monday that Weiner exchanged pictures with a sexy 40-something last year — including an image showing a shirtless Weiner sporting an erection through pants — while his son lay next to him in bed.

Meanwhile, Rep. Charles Rangel, who served with Weiner in Congress, weighed in Tuesday morning on the child being dragged into the tawdry tale.

“As far as Weiner is concerned, since his child somehow was involved, it could be that we can now have him realize he needs help,” he told CNN.

“It takes a lot when someone that has an emotional problem to realize they have the problem. But love for his wife and the child, I think, could finally be that issue where outside interests would prove to him that he’s jeopardizing his child’s life.”

Anthony Weiner, New York can forgive you for being a pervert. What we can’t forgive is being boring.

We’re now in the fifth year of Weiner weenie scandals. No, really: This one-man sausage party has been playing in public since the spring of 2011. The leg warmers in the costume closet at “Cats” aren’t this stale.

It could have all been different for Anthony. As the beginning of this year’s brilliant documentary “Weiner” illustrates, when the disgraced ex-congressman appeared in public life again in 2013, two years after his first sext scandal, he was leading Democratic primary polls to be mayor. The Democratic primary in 2013 was tantamount to the general election.

Ecstatic crowds cheered him in the street. As sex scandals go, Weiner’s had done little harm — he apparently was never even in the same room with the women to whom he sent his crotch shots — and it delivered limitless mirth.

Sure, you can’t spell humiliation without H-U-M-A, but that was none of our business. Anyway, in Huma Abedin’s defense, being utterly shameless seems to be a requirement for anyone connected with Hillary Clinton. No doubt the two women shared some great stories behind the scenes.

This ain’t Topeka. New Yorkers not only forgive quirks; if anything, we celebrate them. This is the city where “Dog Day Afternoon” robber John Wotjowicz became a folk icon after trying to knock over a Brooklyn bank in 1972 to pay for his lover’s sex-change operation.

We at The Post played along with all our “Weiner’s Second Coming” panache. Who doesn’t love a new twist?

But then came Dong Day Afternoon.

On July 23, 2013, it emerged that Weiner was still sexting, this time under the name “Carlos Danger.” Major points for the colorful name, but nobody likes a summer re-run.

Except, it appeared, Huma Abedin. As the “Weiner” documentary shows, she gritted her teeth and looked displeased but apparently dug in. Though she didn’t show up for his election-night party as he finished dead last in the Democratic primary in September, she had a baby to think about, and a lot of road time coming up thanks to her position as Hillary Clinton’s consigliere.

So she hoped for the best even as it became obvious that Weiner, far from being just an unusually vain horndog, really does have some strange serious psychological problem.

Would you want a guy with frayed internal wiring anywhere near your Gmail password, much less granted access to the powers that go with being a congressman or mayor?

You certainly wouldn’t let this guy baby-sit your kid. He can’t be trusted to baby-sit his own kid, as his wife discovered.

Men who stray from the hearth may sometimes get away with it, but those who drag their obsessions into bed next to a sleepy toddler are lighting a match in the vicinity of some immensely combustible feminine force of nature. “You sexted next to OUR CHILD?” or some variant would have been the theme of whatever Huma said to Anthony when she gave him the news that they were, finally, finito.

Alas for Huma, as with everything Hillary-related, booting Anthony out of bed raises a perfectly reasonable follow-up question: Since Bill Clinton’s transgressions were far worse than Weiner’s, why on earth has Hillary continued to stand by her man?

Mayor de Blasio on Tuesday said Anthony Weiner “should address his issues,” but refused to say if he wanted child-welfare officials to investigate Weiner over the lewd selfie he shot while his little boy was lying next to him in bed.

Hizzoner also called Weiner’s latest sexting scandal and resulting break-up of his marriage “incredibly sad.”

“I feel for them. I particularly feel for Huma [Abedin],” de Blasio said of Weiner’s long-suffering wife.

During a news conference in The Bronx, de Blasio was asked if he thought the disgraced ex-congressman — who attempted a comeback campaign during the 2013 mayoral race — had finally killed his political career.

“I think he is someone who should address his issues and not worry about public office,” de Blasio said.

But the mayor ducked a question about whether the Administration for Children’s Services should look into the care Weiner provided his son while now-estranged wife Huma Abedin campaigned with Hillary Clinton.

“I don’t speak to what ACS should or shouldn’t do. Obviously, if they make any decision, that would be a confidential matter,” Hizzoner said.

On Monday, Abedin announced she was leaving Weiner, hours after The Post revealed that the serial sexter had sent salacious photos and engaged in kinky chats with a buxom, 40-something divorcee out West.

Legal experts have told The Post that an ACS probe was likely, with lawyer Michael Stutman noting “the child’s involvement in what appears to be very perverted behavior.”

During the 2013 Democratic mayoral primary campaign, de Blasio eagerly seized on Weiner’s “Carlos Danger” exploits to boost his own candidacy, appearing on CNN and MSNBC to blast the controversy as a “sideshow” and a “spectacle.”

De Blasio, then the city’s public advocate, also called for Weiner to drop out over what was then his second sexting scandal.

But Weiner — who claimed to have undergone rehab following the revelations that forced him to quit Congress two years earlier — stuck it out to the bitter end and garnered just 5 percent of the vote.

Anthony Weiner didn’t just send his latest sexting partner a crotch shot selfie with his young son curled up next to him in bed — he boasted to the woman about using his child as a “chick magnet.”

The stray-at-home dad’s stunning admission followed his repeated gripes about a lack of action in his marital bed, at one point complaining he was only having sex once every two months, according to screenshots obtained by The Post.

Weiner told the woman he had dropped off the tyke “at grandpas after school,” but bellyached that the free baby-sitting “only bought me a couple of hours,” the screenshots show.

“Put him to work,” the buxom brunette suggested during their March 12, 2015, online chat.

Weiner, 51, then sent the 40-something divorcee a photo of his son sitting in a playground swing, smiling and holding a toy car in his hands.

“Already at work. Being a chick magnet,” he wrote.

“It’s like a puppy. Chicks love cute kids and puppies,” she wrote back.

The picture of Weiner’s son, Jordan — now 4 — was among at least nine images featuring the boy that he sent the woman.

The trove includes the outrageous crotch shot that finally prompted wife Huma Abedin, 41, to announce she was leaving the sext maniac on Monday, hours after it was exclusively published by The Post.

Others show the boy lounging barefoot in an easy chair while wearing a Batman T-shirt and sweatpants, wearing shorts and a pair of shades for a mirror selfie shot with his dad, and wrapped in a towel and sitting in his Weiner’s lap in front of a palm tree.

One, showing him barefoot and wearing a hooded, gray bathrobe while standing in a carpeted elevator lobby, prompted the woman to exclaim: “Adorable!”

Weiner sent that picture via Twitter direct message on Dec. 4, 2015, minutes after asking the woman if she was “getting laid nowadays?”

She responded by asking “was that an invitation??”

“God. In a New York minute,” replied Weiner, whose since-deleted avatar showed him wearing a Mets cap.

The disgraced ex-pol’s claim about using his son as a “chick magnet” came after he repeatedly bemoaned his dry spell in the sack.

By then, he had forced Abedin to endure two sexting scandals, the first of which he tried to weasel out of by claiming to be a hacking victim before he came clean and quit his congressional seat in 2011.

Then, in 2013, Abedin publicly embraced Weiner as he mounted a comeback campaign for mayor — only to be humiliated again when her hubby was revealed to have kept on secretly sexting under the pseudonym “Carlos Danger.”

In a Feb. 7, 2015, chat with his latest online fling, Weiner whined that he hadn’t slept well and was “horny as f- -k,” spurring the woman to inquire why he wasn’t sleeping with Abedin.

“So you’re married and never w your wife?” she asked.

“We occupy the same space from time to time. Actually been very civil nowadays,” he answered.

“That’s nice. It takes a woman a long time to forgive if ever,” the sext partner wrote.

About two weeks later, Weiner declared: “I’m cranky, horny and generally ready for change.”

“Amen!!!!” the woman replied.

At the very start of their online relationship, on Jan. 23, 2015, Weiner told the woman his marriage was “busted,” as revealed by The Post on Tuesday.

Two days later, both of them were complaining how sex-starved they were.

“So busted marriage = pent up frustration??” the woman wrote, adding two frown emojis.

The woman — who had previously told Weiner that her live-in boyfriend traveled for work and was only home about 10 days a month — also noted, “So does long distance relationships.”

“Yeah but 11 days a month is a lot of sex,” Weiner jealously noted.

“If you’re lucky,” she wrote back.

Weiner, apparently referring to himself, then texted: “One sex in 60 days?”

“Crash & burn,” the woman replied.

Turning the conversation back to the woman’s boyfriend, Weiner then asked, “I thought he was around every third day?”

“And he’s usually working. Works a lot!! I just have no answers,” she lamented.

Weiner declined to comment on his “chick magnet” text or his complaints about his loveless marriage.

But in an email to The Post on Sunday, he admitted his online relationship with the woman, saying they “have been friends for some time.”

Asked about their sexting relationship, the woman told The Post she thought Weiner was a “broken” man.

“I don’t think he’s a bad guy. Maybe he’s an unfulfilled person. He’s in an unhappy marriage,” she has said.

In addition to the sickening photo that showed his son lying next to him and his crotch bulge, the other was almost identical to the image that first exposed him to national ridicule, except his undies were white instead of gray.

He also lusted after the woman, writing “Holy f–kity f- -k” when she sent him a selfie that showed her in a cleavage-baring, red lace dress — and even admitted masturbating while thinking about her.

Anthony Weiner fell into his latest sexting scandal despite an explicit caution from his latest cyber gal pal just two days into their online relationship, screen shots obtained by The Post show.

During a lengthy exchange of texts on Jan. 25, 2015, the buxom brunette asked Weiner whom else he was chatting with through his Twitter account, the digital transcript shows.

“I mostly talk to reporters here. Not humans. I’m a bit of a hostage to my, uh, infamy,” Weiner wrote.

In a stunningly prophetic *remark, the woman advised Weiner: “You really have to be careful. There’s no loyalty in social media.”

She then added a winking, tongue-out emoji.

The woman, a 40-something divorcée, also told Weiner: “I can comfortabl[y] say I’ve never sent a dirty pic to *anyone.”

“I can’t,” wrote Weiner, who twice torpedoed his political career through serial sexting before the two ever chatted.

“Hahahah . . . So I’ve heard!!!” she wrote back.

During their chat, the woman sent Weiner two selfies showing her posing in brightly colored dresses with plunging necklines, saying that was “as risky as it gets.”

“I just love sexy dresses. Nude is overrated !!” she wrote.

Weiner responded, “Your body is not overrated. I just don’t believe it.”

He limited himself to sending her fairly tame selfies until June 14, 2015, when he sent her a lewd crotch shot, and followed that up with the now-infamous image showing him aroused in his undies with his son next to him in bed.

The unemployed Weiner, meanwhile, was offered a new gig on Wednesday — social-media director for the Bunny Ranch brothel in Nevada.
