Presidential candidate and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) told the media on Friday that he’s actually looking into the possibility of removing President Joe Biden from the Florida ballot, in the wake of Democratic states working to scrub former President Donald Trump from their ballots.
Last month, the Colorado Supreme Court ruled 4-3 that Trump’s name could not appear on the presidential primary ballot, citing the insurrection clause of the 14th Amendment.

“Any time you have a partisan secretary of state, they’re gonna go after the other party’s candidate, and this is just gonna be tit for tat, and it’s not gonna end well,” DeSantis said, detailing the consequences if Trump is indeed removed from Colorado’s ballot.
Trump has filed an appeal asking the U.S. Supreme Court to overturn the state’s ruling, and the court has agreed to look at the case.
“You could make a case — we’re actually, I’m actually looking at this in Florida now,” DeSantis said. “Could we make a credible case that Biden, because of the invasion of eight million?” the governor said, referring to illegal immigrants crossing our southern border.
Under President Biden, millions of illegals have flowed over our border, as Americans in even the bluest of cities have begged for a reprieve. The Biden administration has reversed numerous key Trump-era policies that stemmed the flow of migrants, but still blame Republicans for the continuing invasion.
“Again, I don’t think that’s the right way to do it,” the Florida governor argued, but added that he will fight back against Democrats using their same tactics.
“I think if this is going to happen for them … I don’t believe in fighting with one hand tied behind your back,” he said. “Whatever the rules are applied to us, we’re going to fight back and play the rules the other way.”

“You know, we’ve got a better way forward,” DeSantis added. “We’re not going to have to worry about those issues. And then when I become president, I’m going to be able to address all the lawfare and all the weaponization, and we’ll be able to end this stuff once and for all.”
As noted by The Daily Wire, the U.S. Supreme Court will move quickly on the ballot issue, with oral arguments scheduled to start on February 8.
The high court’s decision will likely affect other states across the nation as Trump was also removed from the primary ballot in Maine, and groups of voters in Illinois and Massachusetts are seeking to remove Trump from the ballot. The former president has also appealed the decision of Maine’s Secretary of State Shenna Bellows removing him from the state’s 2024 presidential primary ballot, calling Bellows a “biased decision maker.”
