Cops stumbled on two severed heads in a Long Island park hours after other body parts were found nearby — and are now probing whether the ruthless MS-13 gang is responsible, police and sources said Friday.
One of the heads, as well as a right arm and leg, are believed to belong to the same female victim, while the other head and two arms appear to be from the same man, law-enforcement sources said of the grisly finds in and around Southards Park in Babylon, Suffolk County.
The man’s left arm, at least, still had its tattoos on it but not its fingertips — which “could mean the victim has a record and [that the perpetrators] don’t want him identified [through prints] because [that] could lead investigators to his killer,’’ a source said.

“These were brutal, vicious murders. MS 13 has been known to hack up bodies with machetes,” the source said of why authorities are eying the ruthless Central American-based gang.
“The bodies were also found near where the gang has committed other crimes,” the source said.
“The medical examiner will determine how and what they were cut up with.”
The first thing that probers have to do is identify the bodies because that will then tell them what direction to go in, sources said.
Cops are hoping that the man’s arm tattoo helps identify him, they said, noting that many law-enforcement agencies keep records of suspects’ ink.

The first body part was found by a girl walking to school with a group of pals along Siegal Boulevard on the east side of the park around 8:40 a.m. Thursday, police said.
She spotted the man’s dismembered left arm dumped in bushes.
The girl called her dad, who went to the scene and reported the stomach-churning find to police.
Authorities then began sweeping the area.
A cadaver dog found the right arm belonging to the woman “about 20 feet further into the woods from where the left arm [was found], almost in a direct line,” Suffolk County Detective Lt. Kevin Beyrer told reporters on Thursday night.

The left arm, belonging to a man, had its fingertips removed, making it hard to identify.

None of the remains appear to have been inside the park for long, the police official said Friday.
“Preliminarily, it appears it’s a matter of a small amount of days, if not hours,” Beyrer said.
MS-13 — which has had a stronghold on Long Island — is notorious for its particularly brutal slayings and dismemberments.

One of its gang members pleaded guilty in May to slicing and stabbing a rival gang member with knives and then chopping him up with a machete in a park in Greenlawn in Suffolk.

A few years earlier, a 22-year-old suspected snitch was hacked to death with a machete and dismembered by the gang, with his body parts found in Uniondale in Nassau County, LI.

Two people have been arrested in connection with the discovery of several body parts — including two severed heads — in a popular Long Island Park last week, The Post has learned.

The pair of arrests came as cops raided a home on Railroad Avenue in Amityville, New York, early Tuesday, police sources told The Post.

The first body part was found Thursday morning by a girl walking to school with a group of friends on Siegal Boulevard — which is on the east side of Southards Park in Babylon, Suffolk County.

When authorities swept the area, they found parts of several other limbs that cops say belong to a man and a woman.

Investigators have said they’re hoping DNA tests — as well as the man’s tattooed left arm — will help them identify the victims.

4 people in custody after more body parts found on Long Island

WEST BABYLON, Suffolk County (WABC) -- More body parts were discovered on Tuesday, including in Bethpage State Park, as detectives question multiple people in the deaths of a man and woman discovered in a Long Island park last week.
There have now been human remains discovered in three different locations scattered across Suffolk County -- and police say they belong to the same man and woman.
The two victims -- believed to be a 59-year-old woman and a 53-year-old man -- may have lived together in Yonkers and their deaths might stem from a domestic dispute.
Detectives are questioning four people who were in an Amityville house when Suffolk police executed a search warrant Monday night. It is believed at least two arrests have been made.
Hours later, police found an additional body part in Bethpage State Park that is believed to be linked to those previously located in Southard Pond Park in Babylon. Human remains were also discovered in a wooded area in West Babylon on Tuesday.
"It's shocking," said one West Babylon resident about the discovery. "Very shocking."
The remains located on Tuesday are believed to belong to the same victims from the February 29 discovery.
"It's crazy," said Jahron Causey, who lives across the street from the woods in West Babylon. "Someone over here just told me. I was taken back for sure."
The Suffolk County Medical Examiner previously said a female head, right upper leg, left leg from the knee down and right arm and two male arms were found.
The grisly discoveries began Thursday morning, when a group of teenagers walking near Babylon Memorial Grade School found a severed arm on the side of the road at the edge of Southard Pond Park.
When officers arrived and searched the area, they found a second arm about 20 feet from where the first arm was found. Police say both appeared to belong to a man.
As the search expanded Thursday afternoon and into the night, a cadaver dog found a woman's leg, arm and head on the opposite side of the park, near Babylon Elementary School.
At a Friday morning press conference, detectives said the condition of the remains suggested they had not been in the park long - maybe a few days or even hours.
Police have not publicly identified the victims or the people arrested.
