'Devil' shirts send kids home
More children from the Dove World Outreach Center arrived Tuesday at area public schools with shirts bearing the message "Islam is of the Devil" and were sent home for violation of the school district's dress code when they declined to change clothes or cover the anti-Muslim statement on their clothing.

rict ban on clothing that may "disrupt the learning process" or cause other students to be "offended or distracted."
"Students have a right of free speech, and we have allowed students to come to school wearing clothes with messages," Wittmer said. "But this message is a divisive message that is likely to offend students. Principals, I feel reasonably, have deemed that a violation of the dress code."
Wittmer said the school district allows students to express their religious beliefs but also must protect other students, such as members of the Muslim faith, from discrimination based on their religious beliefs.
He said there also has to be equal treatment of different faiths.
"The next kid might show up with a shirt saying 'Christianity is of the Devil,'" Wittmer said.
First Amendment scholars said the school district's policy is likely legal and constitutional. Ron Collins, a scholar with the nonprofit First Amendment Center in Washington D.C., said courts give public scho
ol officials a "significant amount of latitude" in regulating student dress that could disrupt the classroom or a school function.
"Here, it's not only a religious expression," Collins said. "It's a religious expression that is hostile to other forms of religious expression."
Collins did note that student speech is afforded more protection at the college or university level.
Catherine Cameron, a faculty member at the Stetson College of Law, said the school district "likely has a good leg to stand on from a First Amendment standpoint" because the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled in several cases that public schools may quash speech deemed disruptive "even if it steps on the other child's free speech rights."
On their front, the T-shirts had a verse from the Gospel of John: "Jesus answered I am the way and the truth and the life; no one goes to the Father except through me," and this statement, "I stand in trust with Dove Outreach Center." The message "Islam is of the Devil" is on the
back of the shirt.
On Monday, a 10-year-old fifth-grader at Talbot Elementary was sent home because of the shirt. On Tuesday, two Eastside High students and one Gainesville High student were sent home and a student at Westwood Middle had to change clothes because of the shirt, according to members of the Dove congregation.
Dove Senior Pastor Terry Jones said no local company "had the guts" to print the shirts. Dove member Wayne Sapp said he then ordered the shirts over the Internet from a company that allows individuals to design their own shirts. His daughter, Faith Sapp , 10, was the Talbot Elementary student sent home Monday. She said she was allowed to wear the shirt to school on Tuesday - with the Gospel message on the front visible but the anti-Islam message on the back covered.
Wayne Sapp's daughter, Emily Sapp, 15, was the student sent home from Gainesville High on Tuesday. Both Faith and Emily Sapp said it was their decision, not that of their parents, to wear the shirts to sch
ool in order to promote their Christian beliefs. Emily Sapp said the "Islam is of the Devil" statement was aimed at the religion's beliefs, not its members.
"The people are fine," she said. "The people are people. They can be saved like anyone else."
Wayne Sapp said he believed the school district's dress code allowed too much room for subjectivity when principals and school administrators determine what is offensive or distracting clothing.
He added that his children decided it was time to "stand up for what they believe instead of saying the rules might not let me do it" and said that society has grown "so tolerant of being tolerant" that free speech is eroding.
Jones said that, to him, spreading the church's message was "even more important than education itself."
All of the Dove members interviewed said that, while they would not like a student wearing a shirt with an anti-Christian message on it to school, they believed students have the right to do it.

R. Khan, president of the Muslim Association of North Central Florida, said the anti-Islam message should not be accepted when "schools are supposed to be teaching tolerance for others."
"It's pretty offensive, isn't it?" Khan said of the message on the back of the shirt. "Particularly in a school setting where you are trying to create an atmosphere where people are supposed to respect each other and live with each other, where we have people of every ethnicity and every religion."
Jones and Wayne Sapp said congregation members have not decided whether their children will be allowed to continue to go to school with "Islam is of the Devil" visible on their clothing because they want their children to get an education - and that does not happen when they are sent home for violating the dress code.

When the Uninformed attempts to make the argument that Muslims worship the same God as Xtians, remind them how the Muslim loves murderers and celebrate murdering cowards and worship them as martyrs.
The Muslims' prophet was a blood-thirsty-murdering-chld-molesting plagiarist that simply stole the Jews' religion and modified it to suit his own criminal acts. Today's Muslims still gleefully murder each other even in their "holy" mosques over disagreements over Mohammed's bloodline relatives. Muslim law and tradition celebrates murdering their enemies, especially upon conversion, which the Muslims believe they are doing the newly converted a favor by sending them on to their heavenly reward. Muslims still practice slavery and mutliate people for criminal offenses and sexual perversions as they define that term and they even mutilate little girls for no valid reason.
There can never be peace with a Muslim, or even between Muslims. To "tolerate" a Muslim, sooner or later, you will be forced to acknowledge the superiority of Mohammed in particular and Arabs in general, buy a prayer rug and submit yourself and your family to the local Imam neighborhood bully, who will be happy to take your property and sons and daughters and tax you for their "protection".
Do not forget history's lessons about Muslims or you or your family will be doomed to relearn them-it's best to have an ocean or mountain or desert between you and the Muslim and the Muslim's beliefs or they will outbreed and over run all the countries they inhabit.
With the way Muslims practice their "religion of peace", the Muslim god is not the same loving God described in the Bible.
Never forget that: it ain't the same god.

Unless you visit a country, SMELLED that country and the people--I used to wonder how come the Vietnam guys talked about the SMELL when they got off the plane, but I understand it now--unless you lived the heat and the dirt and the grit and smelled the men, women, kids, garbage, sewage and the markets, you won't know that the only real hope for these people is for Christian conversion, or they will forever be subject to their neighborhood bully.
But their Muslim religion prevents that from happening, upon penalty of death. So you conclude that there is no hope for these people. If you want the oil, just learn to pump it thru glass, because these people cannot ever accept or ever learn to live in a free country, much less a democracy. Democracy is just not compatible with the tenets of Islam and never will be--just look at how they treat their women!
There were
several Islamic Lessons I learned:

The Global “War on Terror” and Muslim Women

In an earlier blog I argued that Sarkozy’s call for a ban on the Niqab must be viewed in light of a “save the Muslim woman” discourse that has justified war and an ongoing discrimination against Muslim communities. Those supporting Sarkozy, and arguing against my position, suggest that, by placing a legal ban on some of the most conservatively dressed, women would somehow be liberated—that it is possible to momentarily ignore the pandering of political leaders to right wing factions and focus on their attempts to support women’s rights.
This argument is naÃԚ¯ve. We cannot ignore the reality of hatred that is brewing in societies being acted out on Muslim women. Note that my argument is not one that involves whether or not the burqa, purdah, niqa
b, or hijab [WHY IN THE HELL ARE THESE WORDS EVEN APPEARING ON MY COMPUTER SCREEN? I DO NOT WANT ANOTHER GD MUSLIM WORD IN MY VOCABULARY!] is truly a Muslim practice or whether choice is exercised in wearing religious clothing; the fact is that women wear religious clothing and because of this fact they are discriminated against in the context of a growing anti-Muslim sentiment – and this cannot be simply ignored.
Sarkozy’s comments have only further fueled this discrimination: Since his speech there has been a hailstorm of hate-based (and even murderous) acts faced by Muslim women wearing some sort of head covering. These acts alone (both those that took place before and after his speech) demonstrate that Sarkozy’s comments are rooted in and pandering to xenophobic and racist presence that not only exists in France but throughout Europe and the world.
There are numerous examples.
On July 1st in a German courtroom Marwa El-Sherbini was
testifying against a man who discriminated against her for wearing a headscarf – he had called her a “terrorist” and “Islamicist whore.” During the trial her defendant stabbed her 18 times shouting taunts and eventually killing her. When her husband ran to her aide he was shot by the security guards and stabbed by the defendant. Their three-year-old son was witness to all of this. [People are tired of Muslim whinning BS and tired of Muslims using the courts to punish people over Muslims that refuse to adopt the culture or respect the norms of the country they are voluntarily living in. Furthermore, this would have NEVER happened if the Muslims had stayed in CRAPISTAN where they belong.]
During the month of August, both in France and Italy, women have been banned from wearing the burqini, a bathing suit that essentially consists of longer pants, a top, and head covering, at swimming pools. [Good. If you don't want to integrate
into your adopted country, then GET THE HELL OUT! GO BACK TO CRAPISTAN WHERE YOU NEVER HAVE TO WEAR A BATHING SUIT.] In France, the pool claimed that the suit violated their no-swimming-while-clothed policy. In Italy, no pretense was even attempted: One female member of the center-right party of Italian Prime Minister Sylvio Berlusconi said, “We don’t have to be tolerant all the time.” In India, a country with a large Muslim minority (13%), where I am as I write this post, Tehelka reports that Muslim women in Karnataka, a Southern Indian State, have been asked to remove their headscarves at schools or risk suspension. One college principal admitted that the ban on scarves was due to pressure from right wing Hindutva political entities and the related student groups operating on campus. The claims made by the Hindu right wing – despite being driven by their own religious agendas – are those of moving India towards a more secular state where Muslim women would not
face discrimination. These arguments, unsurprisingly, mirror the right wing, anti-immigrant groups of Europe and the United States. As a result of these various forms of discrimination Muslim women have been prevented from using public facilities, suspended of kicked out from schools, felt threatened in courtrooms, are unable to board flights, and been harassed by police. How are women’s rights winning in this environment? [Murdering Muslims Scumbags do NOT have the right to import their way of life into the countries they have fled to to escape their loving Muslim brothers. If Muslims want to continue to live like Muslims, THEN LIVE IN A GD MUSLIM COUNTRY--there are more of these Muslim countries in the world-55 of them-than there are free English speaking countries-just 6-, so Muslims have almost 10 times the choices of Muslim countries where they can live and kill their loving Muslim brothers rather than destroy the English-speaking host countries they CHOOSE to reside in.]
I am not arguing that all Muslim women are always able to make decisions that impact them free of coercion -- including the decision whether to wear hijab or niqab. However, oppression does not simply vanish when dictates are issued by governments releasing alienated minority women from perceived or real religious bondage, especially when the same government actively discriminates against and perpetuates fears and stereotypes about the Muslim community. The claims of some feminists and activists notwithstanding, the discourse of Islam and women’s rights cannot be without a broader understanding of the political agenda of the “war on terror.” A “war” that was launched partly in the name of women that has effectively vilified, alienated and isolated women alongside the entire Muslim community, and made women victims of discrimination and violence (let alone save them). [Completely agree on this point--waging a war to help Muslim women is total BS. Let them eat sxxt and die in the Muslim squalor they were born into.]
Ignoring the layered context of Muslim women’s lives by promoting right wing discourse on women’s rights will have a counter effect on women subjecting them to violence, alienation, and further marginalization -- undermining attempts to empower and transform society. [To hell with empowering society. The kind of transformation you are advocating will destroy Western Civilization and turn Western cities into turd world cities just like the ones you or your kin ran away from.]
