Conservative law professor William Jacobson is the publisher of the Legal Insurrection blog. As one of the few openly conservative faculty members in the Ivy League, Jacobson is in a unique position to observe campus culture and the radical drift higher education has taken in recent years.
Jacobson was recently interviewed by Breitbart News to offer his analysis of what we’re seeing unfold on college campuses right now with left wing rallies in support of the terror group Hamas.
According to Jacobson, we are witnessing the ‘collapse’ phase of higher ed.

Professor William Jacobson Explains How the Left Took Over Education: ‘We’re in a Collapse Phase’
Cornell Law School professor William Jacobson explained to Breitbart News Daily host Mike Slater how the far-left took over academia to the point where the U.S. has “a very radicalized faculty at almost every college” in the country, adding, “We’re in a collapse phase.”
“There’s that saying that collapse happens slowly, then suddenly. We’re in the ‘suddenly’ phase,” Jacobson told Slater.
“But it happened slowly,” Jacobson continued. “I’ve witnessed it — I graduated college in 1981. I went to Hamilton College in upstate New York,.it was a fairly conservative, traditional college. It’s now indistinguishable from Oberlin College.”
“The radical professors were hired, they had a plan,” Jacobson explained. “They slowly took over the committees and the hiring committees, and they only hired their own, and over 30+ years, you got to a situation where you have a very radicalized faculty at almost every college in the U.S.”

Appearing on Joe Rogan’s podcast Tuesday, X owner Elon Musk laid out how Twitter was acting as an arm of the government before he took over, and was “completely controlled by the far-left.”

“The degree to which Twitter was simply an arm of the government was not well understood by the public,” Musk said, adding “And it was whatever, everything was like Pravda basically, a state publication, is the way to think of old Twitter. A state publication.”
“There was basically oppression of any views that, even I would say, be considered middle-of-the-road,” Musk continued, adding “certainly, anything on the right, and I’m not talking about far-right, I’m just talking mildly right.”
“Republicans were suppressed at 10 times the rate of Democrats. That’s because old Twitter was fundamentally controlled by the far-left. It was, like, completely controlled by the far-left,” Musk asserted.

The collapse of cryptocurrency exchange FTX has led to significant losses for crypto investors. In November, its disgraced former CEO and founder Sam Bankman-Fried was convicted on all seven criminal counts he faced. He is set to be sentenced in March, but not everyone is happy about how things have been handled.

Federal prosecutors also accused SBF, as he is often called, of donating customer deposits to politicians. However, they have decided against pursuing a second trial on additional charges, including making unlawful campaign contributions. They explained that much of the evidence has already been submitted to the Court during the first trial and also cited "strong public interest in a prompt resolution of this matter."
This decision sparked widespread discussion on social media.
“Sam Bankman-Fried donated $100 million in stolen customer funds to US politicians,” crypto news outlet Watcher Guru wrote in a recent post on X. “Today, the US Government announced they're dropping six charges against SBF and will not prosecute him for a political campaign finance violation.”
The post, featuring a letter from the U.S. Department of Justice to Judge Lewis Kaplan about not proceeding with a second trial, has received 9.7 million views. It also caught the attention of independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
“No one is even surprised,” Kennedy said in response. “THAT is a bigger problem than the fraud itself. It shows how normalized corruption has become.”
Despite the FTX fiasco, the high-return potential of cryptocurrencies continues to attract investors. For instance, Bitcoin, the world's most prominent cryptocurrency, skyrocketed 154% in 2023.
