House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has announced that he will block an educational event on the Nakba from occurring in auditorium of the Capitol Visitor Center.
Nakba 75 & the Palestinian People” was organized by a number of advocacy groups, including the Institute for Middle East Understanding (IMEU), Democracy for the Arab World Now (DAWN), US Campaign for Palestinian Rights (USCPR), and Jewish Voice for Peace Action (JVP Action). Its featured special guest was set to be Rashida Tlaib (D-MI).
“To uplift the experiences of Palestinians who underwent the Nakba, and educate Members of Congress and their staff about this history and the ongoing Nakba to which Israel continues to subject Palestinians, we’ve partnered together to host this congressional and community educational event to be followed immediately afterward by dinner,” reads the description.
“Congress approves billions of dollars in military funding and weapons equipment to the Israeli military every year that is used to continue the killing and displacement of Palestinians,” said Political Director of Jewish Voice for Peace Action Beth Miller. “Just one day ago, U.S.-sourced Israeli warplanes were used to bomb residential apartment buildings in Gaza, killing 13 Palestinians including 4 children,” said This event is a critically important opportunity to educate members of Congress about what our money has supported both historically and to this day.”
“This event in the US Capitol is canceled,” McCarthy tweeted. “Instead, I will host a bipartisan discussion to honor the 75th anniversary of the US-Israel relationship.”
In a statement Rep. Tlaib condemned McCarthy’s move and noted that the event would still take place.
“Speaker McCarthy wants to rewrite history and erase the existence and truth of the Palestinian people, but he has failed to do so,” it reads. “This event is planned to bring awareness about the Nakba and create space for Palestinian Americans who experienced the Nakba firsthand to tell their stories of trauma and survival.”
“The Nakba is a well-documented historical event that is recognized by the United Nations,” she continued. “We cannot allow the same people who want to ban books and erase history simply because they’re uncomfortable with the truth to silence Palestinian voices…We fully plan on moving forward with this event and we will continue to ensure that Palestinian voices are heard. We will not be silenced.”

The news was celebrated by Anti-Defamation League (ADL) CEO Jonathan Greenblatt. “Grateful Speaker McCarthy took rapid action,” Greenblatt tweeted. “There’s room to talk about the issues — but not at an event co-sponsored by people who traffic in #antisemitism and #hate.”

Greenblatt also linked to a letter that the ADL had sent to McCarthy alerting him to the situation. “This event is happening tomorrow,” it reads. “I ask that greater scrutiny be given to such events, including this one, in the Capitol Complex to ensure that that Congressional controlled areas are not being used to espouse discriminatory and hateful rhetoric. I appreciate your attention to this matter.”
Greenblatt also sent the letter to House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-CA).
Despite framing itself as a civil rights organization, the ADL has made anti-Zionism one of its primary focuses. At its National Leadership Summit earlier this month Greenblatt delivered a speech that ignored right-wing antisemitism but repeatedly referenced critics of Israel.
The Nakba refers to the 1948 displacement of 750,000 Palestinians that occurred as a result of massacres carried out by Zionist militias. On May 15 each year, Palestinians mark the tragedy and the United Nations will commemorate Nakba Day for the first time this year. Last year Tlaib introduced a resolution to recognize the Nakba and the rights of Palestinian refugees. “The Nakba is well-documented and continues to play out today,” she tweeted at the time. “We must acknowledge that the humanity of Palestinians is being denied when folks refuse to acknowledge the war crimes and human rights violations in apartheid Israel.”
Tlaib, the only Palestinian-American member of Congress, has consistently been attacked by Republican lawmakers and members of her own party. In a joint statement on McCarthy’s actions to Jewish Insider’s Marc Rod Reps. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) and Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) said that “bipartisan support for the U.S.-Israel relationship has always been unbreakable and will remain strong for decades to come. Efforts to rewrite history and question the Jewish State’s right to exist will never succeed in Congress.” They added, “malicious narratives perpetuated by some of our colleagues do nothing but sow divisiveness and hate.”

WATCH: Jan 6 Prisoner TORCHES McCarthy In Jailhouse Interview — ‘Where The HELL Is The F***ing Footage You Promised?’

A Jan. 6 prisoner is demanding House Speaker Kevin McCarthy release all of the Capitol surveillance video that he promised to make public.
It was about four months ago that McCarthy vowed to release all of the footage as the Republican Party took control of the House when it was elected into the majority.
The Gateway Pundit commented, “Here we are now, 5 months into House Republicans’ reign of Congress, and nothing is happening.”
The report explained prisoner Dominic Pezzola called the Pundit to express his anger.

“He still hasn’t let it out. They are just all talk. They don’t care about us,” Pezzola said. “If we don’t get up and get off our a***s and grow a set, it’s going to be too late for our way of life. If it doesn’t affect you right now, someday, your children are going to school in between learning about proper pronouns and transgender studies, they are going to be learning about the ancient conservatives that are now extinct that used to roam the plains of the flyover country that had to be eradicated by the left because they were a threat to socialism and communism.”
He charged, “How dare [McCarthy] call himself a Republican. You say you work for us? Everyone knows that January 6 was a complete set-up. There are feds, there are informants and there’s Antifa — I mean, there is everything you can imagine in there.”
Listen to the interview (Be forewarned of offensive language throughout):

Pezzola said the court proceedings for those charged for their actions that day, when President Trump urged his fans to protest peacefully at the Capitol and a few hundred ended up plunging into riot behavior, went on across the street from the Capitol.
“Do you think one of those Republicans would even walk across the street to observe the atrocities that were happening in that courtroom? Not one of them gives a s*** about any of us — they don’t.”
The Gateway Pundit noted it was Pezzola’s first interview since a jury of “Anita-sympathizers: convicted leaders of the Proud Boys of seditious conspiracy.”
“They go in there and talk a big game, they are going to, ‘Fight for you,’ ‘They’re going to fight for us.’ Hey, Kevin McCarthy, where the hell is the f***ing footage from January 6 that you’ve been promising everyone? Where is it?”
The report said constitutional experts confirm the GOP-led House has the power to assure J6 defendants of due process, or even set them free.
“Article I Section 8 Clause 17 of the U.S. Constitution is known as the ‘enclave clause,’” explained attorney David Clements. “It establishes Congress’s exclusive power to regulate all matters within the District of Columbia. This would necessarily include all matters related to police power, the option of establishing a city council and position of mayor to run the district’s affairs, and the administration of prisons and the treatment of prisoners.
“In other words, your elected representatives, now led by a Republican majority, should be lobbied 24/7 for the immediate release of those imprisoned in the DC gulag now. Withholding federal funding, or exercising the ‘power of the purse’ should be leveraged.”
The Department of Justice, under Joe Biden, already has prosecuted about 1,000 people for offenses mostly involving things like trespassing. And it has said it wants to prosecute another 1,000.
The crowds were there protesting what they perceived to be an unfair election of Joe Biden, an election that evidence now has revealed undoubtedly was influenced by outside forces.
Those include the $400 million plus that Mark Zuckerberg gave to local election officials through foundations. They mostly used it to recruit voters from leftist districts.
The other significant factor was the FBI collusion with legacy and social media to suppress accurate reporting about the Biden family scandals revealed in the data on a laptop computer Hunter Biden abandoned at a repair shop.

A coalition of intelligence experts said at the time, without evidence, that the laptop was Russian disinformation, but even those now have been admitting that it was all just a political stunt to hurt President Trump and help Biden in the election.

The Pundit reported, “Pezzola, who joined the Proud Boys 30 days prior to January 6, was acquitted of a seditious conspiracy charge but convicted of other charges, including robbery of government property and assaulting, resisting, or impeding an officer.”
The report continued, “Judge Timothy J. Kelly, the Trump-appointed magistrate presiding over the Proud Boys seditious conspiracy trial, allowed the government to stack the jury with Antifa supporters. Throughout the 5-month trial, Kelly, whose wife works for DC’s Democratic Mayor Muriel Bowser, also allowed the government to withhold all details about the Confidential Human Sources employed by government agencies to patriot groups during the riot.”
Pezzola said, “We found 50 undercover agents and Confidential Human Sources that were in the crowd that day just around us that day. The judge won’t let it in. Why? Because we start unraveling that web of lies it’s going to lead to the truth that day and none of them want the truth to come out. Every one of these people that lives in DC is entangled in the same web of corruption that has been destroying this country for decades now.”
He said, “This is all about the stolen election and now we are supposed to go in front of the judge and apologize for things we didn’t do. And tell them we were deranged and our thoughts were wrong. This is not how this country is supposed to work. We are supposed to be able to have our own thoughts. Everything that was done was a coverup for what happened in the election, there was a lot of shady s— that happened that should have been investigated. And everyone wanted to turn their noses on it. All these federal judges, all these judges in DC have all been completely corrupted by the Democrat machine in here. It’s unbelievable.”
He said his evidence included a “video of the cops telling us that we can stay [in the Capitol building] as long as we were peaceful, and the judge won’t let us bring it in.”

‘This Deal Is Insanity’: Conservatives Blast McCarthy’s Debt Ceiling Deal With Biden

House lawmakers furious over deal raising debt ceiling by $4 Trillion with no cap on spending for 2 more years, maintaining Democrats’ wish list, and keeping in place IRS expansion by 98%

"Fake conservatives agree to fake spending cuts," mocks Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.).

Conservative House Republicans are sounding the alarm over Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s debt ceiling deal with the Biden regime, which was just announced on Saturday night.

McCarthy has been taking victory laps since the deal was announced, calling it a “step in the right direction” in part because it doesn’t raise taxes.

“We were able to do this when the president said he wasn’t even going to talk to us,” McCarthy told anchor Shannon Bream on “Fox News Sunday.” “This is really a step in the right direction. That puts us [at] a trajectory that’s different. We put a statutory cap on only spending 1 percent for the next six years. So we let government grow but at a slower rate.”

But his conservative colleagues are claiming the deal is a disaster because Biden still gets to raise the debt ceiling by $4 trillion with no spending cap until 2025, well past the next election.

“This ‘deal’ is insanity,” claimed Rep. Ralph Norman (R-S.C.). “A $4T debt ceiling increase with virtually no cuts is not what we agreed to. Not gonna vote to bankrupt our country. The American people deserve better.”
This “deal” is insanity.

A $4T debt ceiling increase with virtually no cuts is not what we agreed to.

Not gonna vote to bankrupt our country. The American people deserve better.

Rep. Dan Bishop (R-N.C) pointed out that the deal effectively keeps in place the 87,000 IRS agents that were funded in Joe Biden’s “Inflation Reduction Act.”

Kevin says we can fight again NEXT year to rescind another year of the IRS $80 billion … but he simultaneously prevented that “fight” by agreeing to suspend the debt ceiling for TWO years.

So there will be 85,260 more IRS agents rather than 87,000 to eat you alive. Big win. https://t.co/CHRRIxFI4j
— Rep. Dan Bishop (@RepDanBishop) May 28, 2023

Of the $80 billion Democrats appropriated to the IRS over ten years, the “deal” rescinds $1.9 billion. You read that right. That’s the kind of “get” that’s so good McCarthy agreed to increase the debt ceiling $4 trillion.
— Rep. Dan Bishop (@RepDanBishop) May 28, 2023

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) joined in on House criticisms, claiming “conservatives have been sold out once again!”

“Fake conservatives agree to fake spending cuts. Deal will increase mandatory spending ~5%, increase military spending ~3%, and maintain current non-military discretionary spending at post-COVID levels. No real cuts to see here,” Paul tweeted Sunday.

Conservatives have been sold out once again!

Rep. Ken Buck (R-Colo.) said he was “appalled” by the results of the debt ceiling deal.

“The bottom line is that the U.S. will have $35 trillion of debt in January, 2025. That is completely unacceptable,” he tweeted.

I listened to Speaker McCarthy earlier tonight outline the deal with President Biden and I am appalled by the debt ceiling surrender.

The bottom line is that the U.S. will have $35 trillion of debt in January, 2025.

That is completely unacceptable.
— Rep. Ken Buck (@RepKenBuck) May 28, 2023

Rep. Chip Roy (R-Texas) also piled on: “$4 Trillion for keeping (effectively) bloated 2023 spending levels & maintenance of the Democrats’ wish list – crony IRA unreliable energy subsidies stay, IRS expansion 98% stays, work requirements weak and don’t apply to Medicaid.”

I wish that were true. $4 Trillion for keeping (effectively) bloated 2023 spending levels & maintenance of the Democrats’ wish list – crony IRA unreliable energy subsidies stay, IRS expansion 98% stays, work requirements weak and don’t apply to Medicaid… https://t.co/f3i4fTlWRs

McCarthy, however, dismissed his colleagues’ concerns, claiming “95 percent” of the conference is “very excited.”

“Well, that’s OK. Because more than 95 percent of all those in the conference were very excited. But think about this,” he said on Sunday. “We finally were able to cut spending. We’re the first Congress to vote for cutting spending year over year.”

“If you look at each movement here, this is a whole new direction,” he added. “Just think about how this even came to fruition. Normally you have 1,000 page bill, this is going to be less than 150 pages. Normally, the country doesn’t know about it until after it’s passed. Now, we’ll wait 72 hours. This is worthy of the American people. I want them to read it. I want them to understand it.”

Plenty of conservatives on social media have also expressed disappointment in the deal’s emerging details, claiming McCarthy caved to Biden.

The pathetic “debt deal” is pretty much what I expected to happen. No meaningful reduction in Bidens weaponized IRS expansion? Barely any COVID clawback? McCarthy was too busy insisting that poor people over 49 have a work test to get food stamps lol what a fail.

I corrected predicted what McCarthy would do in his first 6 months, step by step, on our podcast …

1) To get Speaker votes – McCarthy would pretend to be more conservative than George Washington.

2) Next step – pass a bunch or DOA bills that could never pass the Senate or…

McCarthy debt “deal” is a disaster.

I love President Trump.

But his endorsement of @SpeakerMcCarthy for Speaker is one of the worst decisions he’s ever made.

Trump has a lot of positive accomplishments. But I can’t say his endorsement process is one of those.

Loyalist…

What the details of this deal reveal is that the entire façade of McCarthy was a fraud. He was never projecting an image of defiance and strength at the White House. If you were a fly on the wall during the meetings, you would have instead heard something like this: “Hey, how do…

The deal @SpeakerMcCarthy made is a big loss for those concerned about out-of-control spending and seems to cement the drunken-sailor federal spending in place until 2025.
— Tom Fitton (@TomFitton) May 28, 2023

Here’s the bottom line for Kevin McCarthy — if you can’t leverage a crypt keeper dementia patient with both diminishing capacity and popularity, you either can’t leverage any Democrat or were never going to.
— Steve Deace (@SteveDeaceShow) May 28, 2023

Anyone on the right who is praising this “deal” McCarthy made with Biden is either a complete and total idiot, or bought and paid for, dutifully out there spinning fake narratives about how McCarthy didn’t get steamrolled by a senile Biden.
— Wade Miller (@WadeMiller_USMC) May 28, 2023

Biden, meanwhile, is also touting the deal as “good news for the American people.”

“It is an important step forward that reduces spending while protecting critical programs for working people and growing the economy for everyone,” he tweeted, adding “the agreement protects my and Congressional Democrats’ key priorities and legislative accomplishments.”

Earlier this evening, Speaker McCarthy and I reached a budget agreement in principle.

It is an important step forward that reduces spending while protecting critical programs for working people and growing the economy for everyone. And, the agreement protects my and…
— President Biden (@POTUS) May 28, 2023

The deal will be put to a vote in the House on Wednesday, McCarthy claimed.
