Oxford police have made an arrest in the armed robbery and shooting at Links Apartments that happened March 4.

On March 4, the Oxford Police Department responded to the parking lot of building 21 at the Links Apartment for a report of a male with a gunshot wound.

Officers arrived and began administering live-saving measures on the victim while others began searching for a suspect.

Shortly after, 20-year-old Lakerrian Kadriaun Ruffin (of Oxford, MS) was taken into custody. A search warrant was executed on his house where a large quantity of narcotics was located.

The victim was transported to the Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi and eventually transferred to Regional One Medical in Memphis, TN, where they are currently in stable but critical condition.

Lakerrian Ruffin is charged with Armed Robbery and Aggravated Assault and was given a bond of $250,000 by the Municipal Court Judge, but a hold was placed on Ruffin by the Mississippi Department of Corrections.

We would like to thank the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department, Lafayette County Metro Narcotics, and the Oxford Fire Department for their assistance.

This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information should call the Oxford Police Department at 662-232-2400 or CrimeStoppers at 662-234-8799.
