According to Metro, Watts told investigators he shot the 22-year-old because he felt threatened for his life. A detective said investigators did not find a gun in Sejdinovic’s vehicle.
LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — The relatives of a young man killed on his way to work are seeking justice for his murder.
Elvin Sejdinovic, 22, was found dead last year on Oct. 5 near Decatur Boulevard and Sobb Avenue near Sunset Road.
“This has killed our entire family. This has brought so much pain and so much hurt for our entire family,” Dzeneta Husic, Sejdinovic’s cousin, said at the lobby of the Regional Justice Center.
Family and friends of Sejdinovic were in court on Thursday, wearing shirts and sweaters with his picture. They attended the hearing of the man accused of killing him, Keyun Watts.

“We grew up out here. We have families, we have jobs. We did everything in our power to create a good life to be productive in society, and this is how we get repaid,” Husic said.
Watts, 25, pleaded not guilty to 17 charges related to the murder before Clark County District Court Judge Tierra Jones.
Being in court wasn’t easy for family and friends of Sejdinovic, whose family immigrated to the United States from Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“We pretty much all died. That’s how it felt and that’s how we’re going to feel the rest of our lives,” Velmin Husic, his uncle, said.

According to court documents, Watts admitted to officers with the Las Vegas Metro Police Department he shot Sejdinovic Oct. 5. Police arrested him in November after they obtained photos and video placing Watts at the scene.
Dashcam video from a taxicab was among the evidence Metro investigators obtained.
It shows Watts’ Chevrolet Camaro get close to Sejdinovic’s Nissan Versa. Sejdinovic then starts swerving across the road and crashes into a pole. Photos showed Sejdinovic’s car was riddled with bullet holes.
Dzeneta Husic told 8 News Now they want justice for their family and other victims of homicides.
“We can’t do anything to bring our loved one back. But the least we can do is have the justice system help us serve justice and not let this continue to happen. Not let this be a pattern. Not to let this be another case number,” Husic said. “This is a human being, we are all human beings, and this is not fair and this is not right.”
Watts is scheduled to return to court Jan. 21.
