ROCKY MOUNT. N.C. (WTVD) -- A man was arrested and charged with murder Sunday after a woman was found dead.
The Rocky Mount Police Department said officers were called to the 300 block of Marigold Street just before 3 a.m. for reports of an unconscious woman.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the incident is being investigated as a domestic violence homicide.
Scottie Leshay Jeffries was arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with this incident. he is being held at the Edgecombe County Jail with no bond.

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. (WITN) - Police say a man has been arrested after a deadly domestic violence incident in Rocky Mount on Sunday.

According to the Rocky Mount Police Department, they responded at 2:58 am to a report of an unconscious female located at 308 Marigold Street.

They say the victim, whose name is being withheld until family is notified, was pronounced dead at the home by EMS.

Police say the suspect, 43-year-old Scottie Jeffries, was arrested on scene and charged with first degree murder.

They say Jeffries was placed in the Edgecombe County Jail with no bond.

The Rocky Mount Criminal Investigations Division continues to investigate this case.
