Former Ohio State defensive back
Marcus Williamson, 23, has been charged with kidnapping and robbery after police say he forced a woman to withdraw $500 from an ATM in Memphis, Tennessee.
Inmate records indicate that a man with Williamson's name and birthday was booked into the Shelby County Jail Saturday and is currently being held on $80,000 bond with a court date on Sept. 7.
According to WBNS-TV, the CBS affiliate in Columbus, that man is the former Buckeye who played for Ohio State from 2017-21.
In an affidavit obtained by WBNS, Williamson, a Westerville, Ohio, native, is accused of kidnapping a woman and taking her wallet and phone last Thursday, forcing her to drive to an ATM, and then giving the woman her debit card and telling her to withdraw the cash. The affidavit states Williamson then told the woman to get out of her vehicle before he drove away.

Authorities say they found Williamson driving the woman’s vehicle the next day. He had thrown items into a trash can prior to his arrest. The items belonged to the victim, according to the affidavit. A room key was found in the trash can for a hotel room. Police acting on a search warrant found Williamson’s identification in the room.
The victim later identified Williamson in a six-person photo lineup. Williamson was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, aggravated kidnapping, and tampering with or fabricating evidence.
Williamson played in Ohio State’s first 12 games last season, mostly as a nickel cornerback.
He drew praise for his unselfishness early in the season after not earning a starting job.
He did not accompany the team for the Rose Bowl, saying he had retired from football. When Ohio State’s defense struggled against Utah in that game,
Williamson tweeted comments critical of Buckeye fans and the defensive coaching staff.
