It’s the first of such charges brought on by the Justice Department in connection to the Capital riot

The founder and leading member of the right-wing militia group the Oath Keepers, Stewart Rhodes, is being charged with seditious conspiracy by the Justice Department in connection with the January 6 Capitol riot.

Rhodes, a 56-year-old army veteran, did not enter the Capitol building on January 6, but helped put the riot into motion, authorities said on Thursday. They said he was in direct contact with some of those who entered the Capitol building and allegedly threatened more violence. The right-wing leader is one of dozens connected to the Oath Keepers that has been charged by the Justice Department.

WATCH – Stew Rhodes joined Alex Jones last July 2nd 2021 to give his version of the Jan 6th event and the current witch hunt of conservatives. This is a previously unreleased interview.

Rhodes and numerous others have been charged, but Rhodes’ sedition charge is the first of its kind against any of the more than 700 Capitol protesters that have been placed under arrest. Rhodes’ attorney confirmed he was taken into custody on Thursday.

Rhodes has denied directing the riot inside the Capitol building. He told the New York Times over the summer that some members of his group went “off mission,” but he gave no instructions to enter the Capitol.

“There were zero instructions from me or leadership to do so,” he claimed.

The January 6 House committee investigating the Capitol riot previously issued a subpoena for Rhodes and accused him of inciting violence from the Oath Keepers to “ensure their preferred election outcome,” claiming he told members to prepare for a “full-on war in the streets.”

Ten others were also charged in the new indictment this week, with Edward Vallejo and Rhodes being the only ones that had not been previously arrested. According to the Justice Department, 11 people are facing the sedition charge.

Alert: DHS Targets Joe Rogan, Trump Supporters - 'Terrorism Threat to US Homeland'

According to new federal “terrorism” guidance, podcaster Joe Rogan, supporters of former President Donald Trump, virtually all conservatives and many moderates may be considered “threat actors” by the Biden administration.
The guidance, issued Monday in a Department of Homeland Security “National Terrorism Advisory System Bulletin,” claims that individuals who spread “false” narratives and “misinformation” are a threat to the United States.
Of course, with this definition, the Biden administration is the body that gets to determine what is “misinformation” and what isn’t.
For instance, the White House recently suggested that Rogan should be censored for discussing dissenting opinions on COVID-19, vaccines and other social issues on his podcast.
“The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors,” the DHS bulletin read.
“These threat actors seek to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence.”
So, in its assessment of terror threats, the DHS claims that undermining “public trust in government institutions” is a danger. Does that mean the beliefs underlying libertarianism and conservatism — ideologies in favor of limiting government power — are inherently threatening?
That seems to be what the DHS is saying.
Furthermore, according to the bulletin, in the view of the federal government, there are certain “factors” that increase “the volatility, unpredictability, and complexity of the threat environment.”
Some of these factors make sense to be considered a terrorist threat. Those include “continued calls for violence directed at U.S. critical infrastructure” and “calls by foreign terrorist organizations for attacks on the United States based on recent events.”
The first factor listed in the DHS document, however, applies to over half of the U.S. population — if Biden’s federal government is defining the terms used, that is.
That factor is “the proliferation of false or misleading narratives, which sow discord or undermine public trust in U.S. government institutions.”
“For example, there is widespread online proliferation of false or misleading narratives regarding unsubstantiated widespread election fraud and COVID-19. Grievances associated with these themes inspired violent extremist attacks during 2021,” the bulletin read.
Do you disagree with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which seems to change its COVID-19 guidance every other week? Are you not willing to fall in line with the directives of White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci, who has, time after time, spread misinformation to the American people regarding the coronavirus?
Do you not trust their federally approved “expertise”?
Well, then, according to the government, you believe in “false and misleading narratives.”
If you dare to share those feelings of distrust with others — as Rogan often does with his many right- and left-leaning guests — then the government might determine you are a terror threat.
If the Biden administration is looking for someone to blame for its declining public image, perhaps federal officials should take a look in the mirror instead of pointing fingers at the very people trying to piece back together all of the institutions they have destroyed.

On the latest episode of The Hill’s “Rising,” political commentator Kim Iversen broke down concerning new language in a U..S. Department of Homeland Security bulletin about domestic terrorism that could have potential ramifications for anyone questioning government institutions.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on Feb. 7 released a “Summary of Terrorism Threat to the U.S. Homeland” bulletin.
According to journalist and political commentator Kim Iversen, the bulletin “actually labels what is typically considered free speech as terrorism.”
The bulletin reads:
“The United States remains in a heightened threat environment fueled by several factors, including an online environment filled with false or misleading narratives and conspiracy theories, and other forms of mis- dis- and mal-information (MDM) introduced and/or amplified by foreign and domestic threat actors.”
“Remember, this is a bulletin about domestic terrorism threats to the homeland and they’re saying that we’re in a heightened threat environment because of what they label mis- or disinformation,” Iversen said. “Which they’re saying could be spread by American citizens — so that’s you and me.”
Tyranny Ahead
We could all be in “hot terrorism water,” Iversen said, for either knowingly or unknowingly spreading misinformation, disinformation or malinformation (MDM) — even though the definitions of those terms keep changing.
Throughout the pandemic, many people accused of spreading disinformation or conspiracy theories turned out to be right all along.
“It was originally a conspiracy theory that there would be vaccine mandates. It was misinformation to say the vaccine doesn’t prevent spread,” Iversen said.
According to the DHS bulletin, people who spread MDM, “are possibly threat actors seeking to exacerbate societal friction to sow discord and undermine public trust in government institutions to encourage unrest, which could potentially inspire acts of violence.”
“So they’re saying that if you spread information that undermines public trust in a government institution like the Centers for Disease Control, or Federal Drug Administration, or the Pentagon or Congress it could lead to violence,” Iversen said.
To prevent these “theoretical” acts of violence that stem from engaging in speech that undermines public trust in government institutions “you could be labeled a terrorist threat,” she argued.
“By issuing this bulletin they’ve effectively given themselves the freedom to halt any dissent they don’t like under the guise of ‘it could lead to violence,’” Iversen said.
The DHS bulletin also states:
“The primary terrorism-related threat to the United States continues to stem from lone offenders or small cells of individuals who are motivated by a range of foreign and/or domestic grievances often cultivated through the consumption of certain online content.”
“So they’re saying it could just be you,” Iversen argued. “You don’t need to be affiliated with a known neo-nazi group or some other flagged organization. If you acting alone to air grievances against the government they deem to be potentially threatening, you could be flagged as a domestic terrorist.”
The bulletin referenced “widespread online proliferation of false or misleading narratives” regarding COVID, stating:
“COVID-19 mitigation measures — particularly COVID-19 vaccine and mask mandates — have been used by domestic violent extremists to justify violence since 2020 and could continue to inspire these extremists to target government, healthcare, and academic institutions that they associate with those measures.”
“Besides angry parents at school board meetings and angry airline passengers I don’t remember any violent extremist attacks due to COVID,” Iversen said.
She described the bulletin as “pretty alarming” as it labels any speech or government dissent, “or sowing any sort of discord amongst a government institution is potentially domestic terrorism.”

DHS Head Can’t Name One Case That He Referred to DOJ For ‘White Supremacy or Domestic Terrorism’

This despite fact agency considers white supremacy to be the top domestic threat.

Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has claimed repeatedly that white extremists are the greatest terror threat to America but when confronted during a congressional hearing on Thursday he couldn’t name one single case he referred from DHS to the Department of Justice for “white supremacy or domestic terrorism.”

Florida Rep. Greg Steube (R), who sits on the House Judiciary Committee, grilled Mayorkas on the issue:

Despite claiming domestic terrorism is the #1 threat to the homeland, @SecMayorkas can’t name a single case that he referred from DHS to DOJ for white supremacy or domestic terrorism. pic.twitter.com/9ZtYp1A3eo
— Congressman Greg Steube (@RepGregSteube) April 28, 2022

Steube also asked Mayorkas why he doesn’t consider BLM rioters (who caused $2 billion in damages during the Summer of Floyd) a domestic terror threat.

Mayorkas can’t name any cases because so-called “white extremist” attacks have been at a record low, despite non-stop hysterics from the regime.

The FBI has had to repeatedly manufacture domestic terror plots and fund their own “white extremist” groups just to justify their domestic War on Terrorism (aka War on the American People).

E8w2tKbWEAQ8yq2_.jpg

FBI director Chris Wray revealed last year that since the feds wildly expanding the definition of “domestic terror threats” to include half the country the FBI’s “domestic terrorism caseload has exploded.”

“Since the spring of 2020, so for the past 16, 18 months or so, we have more than doubled our domestic terrorism caseload from about 1,000 to around 2,700 investigations, and we have surged personnel to match, more than doubling the amount of people working that threat than the year before,” Wray said.

One of those cases, which involved at least a dozen FBI confidential human sources and undercover agents, was the FBI-manufactured Gov. Whitmer kidnapping plot which fell apart in court after the defendants argued they were entrapped and the lead FBI agent on the case was caught viciously beating his wife bloody after a swingers party because she wasn’t into it.

Though the threat of “white extremism” is nothing more than a scam to justify criminalizing all opposition to the corrupt regime in Washington, black extremists have carried out repeated attacks over the past year.

Nonetheless, the regime is so single-mindedly focused on the mythical “white terror threat” that they haven’t stopped a single one of these attacks despite these suspects being on their radar!

They’re too busy monitoring Gab and Telegram to see suspects like Frank James openly posting terroristic threats all over Facebook and YouTube!

Crime has exploded in major cities across America in the wake of the post-Floyd “racial reckoning” but Mayorkas, Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland refuse to do anything about it because “white supremacists” aren’t the perps!

Justice Department Threatens Oath Keepers with Life in Prison

"The United States takes the position that the most analogous offense to seditious conspiracy is ‘Treason,’" warns federal prosecutor Kathyrn Rakoczy.
By Julie Kelly

May 8, 2022

In a letter obtained by American Greatness, the U.S. Department of Justice is threatening defendants charged with seditious conspiracy in the sprawling Oath Keepers case to accept plea deals or face life in prison.

Matthew Graves, the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia handling every prosecution related to the events of January 6, 2021, imposed a May 6 deadline for the remaining defendants to accept plea deals. Three men have pleaded guilty to seditious conspiracy; nine others, including Oath Keepers’ founder Stewart Rhodes, have rejected government attempts to reach a plea.

“We write to advise you of applicable penalties that could apply upon conviction at trial,” Graves’ chief prosecutor in the case, Kathyrn Rakoczy, wrote to defense attorneys in a letter dated May 2. (Every January 6 defendant who has faced a jury trial in Washington, D.C. has been found guilty on all charges by jurors following brief deliberations.)

After detailing the hefty prison sentences and fines associated with other offenses charged in the case, Rakoczy turned to the potential sentence for seditious conspiracy, a crime so rare that federal sentencing guidelines don’t cover it. “The United States takes the position that the most analogous offense to seditious conspiracy is ‘Treason,’” Rakoczy wrote. If a jury concludes the conspiracy involved conduct “that is tantamount to waging war against the United States,” Rakoczy explained, the government could seek a life sentence upon conviction.

Seditious conspiracy is defined as two or more people who “conspire to overthrow, put down, or to destroy by force the Government of the United States, or to levy war against them, or to oppose by force the authority thereof, or by force to prevent, hinder, or delay the execution of any law of the United States, or by force to seize, take, or possess any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof.” After pressure from the media and Democratic leaders, Graves’ office indicted 11 Oath Keepers with seditious conspiracy on January 12, 2022. Another Oath Keeper was indicted this week.

The Oath Keepers are not accused of carrying or using any weapons on January 6; none is charged with directly vandalizing government property. Two “stacks” of Oath Keepers entered the building after the joint session of Congress recessed that afternoon and walked through open doors with police nearby.

Rakoczy further threatened defendants with a terrorism enhancement for any guilty verdict. (Each also faces obstruction of an official proceeding and other felony counts.) The enhancement could result in a maximum sentence of 22 years per offense.

In February, Matthew Perna, charged with nonviolent offenses for his involvement in the Capitol protest, committed suicide after learning Graves planned to seek enhancements that would have added years to his prison sentence.

As Graves’ office strongarms Oath Keepers to accept plea deals, his prosecutors just admitted in court that the government still has not met all its discovery obligations in the complex case.

Rakoczy told D.C. District Court Judge Amit Mehta during a status hearing on Friday that at least one federal informant infiltrated the group and recorded a November 2020 meeting between several defendants including Rhodes, a revelation only recently disclosed to defense counsel.
Prosecutors have not yet made available voluminous FBI records; Rhodes’ attorney told Mehta that hundreds of chat groups and tens of thousands of messages retrieved from Rhodes’ cell phone by an independent expert were omitted in evidence given to all defense attorneys by the government.

Mehta, who already delayed the first trial from April to July, agreed on Friday to delay the July trial until late in September. The first trial will include Kenneth Harrelson, Kelly Meggs, and Jessica Watkins—all of whom have been in jail since early 2021 under pretrial detention orders sought by Graves’ office—and Rhodes, who has been incarcerated since his arrest in January. Mehta also added Thomas Caldwell to the September trial. The remaining defendants will face trial in December.

Three Oath Keepers have pleaded guilty to seditious conspiracy in exchange for sentencing leniency. Joshua James, a Purple Heart veteran who nearly died from a bomb explosion in Iraq in 2007 that killed three of his fellow soliders and suffers from PTSD, was the first to plead guilty in March. Prosecutors, according to James’ wife, threatened to eliminate all veteran benefits for the father of three young children. “We made the choice that makes it more likely that Josh would be home sooner than later instead of risking our future on a trial that would likely take away many years of his life and deprive him of the chance to raise his children,” Audrey James explained in a post on the family’s fundraising site.

During his plea hearing last month, Brian Ulrich repeatedly sobbed as Mehta read his admission of guilt and potential sentence, prompting Mehta to ask if he needed some time to gather himself. “It’s not going to get any easier,” Ulrich responded as he wept. Ulrich entered the building at 3:22 p.m. on January 6, an hour after Congress recessed and lawmakers had been evacuated. He carried no weapon and exited the Capitol about ten minutes later.

No American ever has been convicted of seditious conspiracy. Sheikh Omar Abdel-Rahman and nine of his followers—all foreign nationals—were convicted of the crime in 1995 for plotting to blow up several buildings in New York City.

Garland Perjury? FBI Whistleblowers Say Parents Investigated With Counterterrorism “Threat Tag”

by Zero Hedge

Parents voicing their opposition to topics ranging from Critical Race Theory to mask mandates were investigated.

An FBI whistleblower has revealed that ‘dozens’ of investigations into parents voicing their opposition to topics ranging from Critical Race Theory to mask mandates were investigated using a “threat tag” created by the agency’s counterterrorism division – directly contradicting Attorney General Merrick Garland’s 2021 testimony denying that the Department of Justice had been weaponized.

According to a letter from Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Mike Johnson (R-LA), “We now have evidence that contrary to your testimony, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has labeled at least dozens of investigations into parents with a threat tag created by the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division to assess and track investigations related to school boards.

The letter cites an October 4th memo issued by Garland announcing a concentrated effort to target any threats of violence, intimidation, and harassment by parents toward school personnel.

“We have learned from brave whistleblowers that the FBI has opened investigations with the EDUOFFICIALS threat tag in almost every region of the country,” adding “The information we have received shows how, as a direct result of your directive, federal law enforcement is using counterterrorism resources to investigate protected First Amendment activity.”

Three examples were provided, including at least one member of “Moms for Liberty,” a nonprofit dedicated to helping parents fight for conservative values in the classroom.

This whistleblower information is startling,” the letter continues. “You have subjected these moms and dads to the opening of an FBI investigation about them, the establishment of an FBI case file that includes their political views, and the application of a “threat tag” to their names as a direct result of their fundamental constitutional right to speak and advocate for their children.”

This information is evidence of how the Biden Administration is using federal law enforcement, including counterterrorism resources, to investigate concerned parents for protected First Amendment activity.”

Reactions to the whistleblower revelations has been harsh:

This is a grave abuse of power. pic.twitter.com/MdK0vm51VN
— Christopher F. Rufo ⚔️ (@realchrisrufo) May 12, 2022

The letter is similar to a November, 2001 memo from Jordan to Garland

A ‘protected disclosure’:

In mid-November, House Judiciary Committee Republicans sent a letter to Garland after an FBI whistleblower came forward with “a protected disclosure” – claiming that “the FBI’s Counterterrorism Division had been compiling and categorizing threat assessments related to parents, including a document directing FBI personnel to use a specific “threat tag” to track potential investigations.”

“This disclosure provides specific evidence that federal law enforcement operationalized counterterrorism tools at the behest of a left-wing special interest group against concerned parents,” the letter continues.
