Police: Rolling gun battle leads to fatal crash on I-70

NORTH CITY (KMOV) -- St. Louis Police continue to investigate a rolling gun battle that led to a fatal accident on Interstate 70 early Sunday morning.

Police said a gun battle between two vehicles erupted close to a gas station on Goodfellow and Natural Bridge around 3 a.m.

One of the vehicles involved attempted to evade the gunshots and headed toward the Interstate 70 entrance ramp at Goodfellow.

Witnesses reported that the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed, went airborne, and hit a guardrail as it attempted to enter the highway.

At least one person was ejected from the vehicle and thrown onto the highway upon impact. One occupant was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two passengers were transported to the hospital, one of them in critical conditon.

An assault rifle was recovered on the higway near the victim.

A small portion of eastbound I-70 was shutdown until 8:20 a.m. while accident reconstruction crews were are on the scene.

Police are actively searching for the other vehicle involved in the crash.

Shots fired at car as police investigate drive-by shooting in north St. Louis

(KMOV.com) -- St. Louis Police are looking for a suspect involved in a drive-by shooting in north St. Louis Friday night.

St. Louis Police said they responded to a shots fired call at N. Florissant and Grand after a woman reported hearing several gunshots around 9:45 p.m.

The first victim, a 28-year-old black female, said she heard the shots and then heard a loud thumping noise against her front right passenger door.

Police reported the victim was struck in the left forearm by some small debris.

The investigation is ongoing as police said they found a bullet hole in the front right passenger door of the victim’s vehicle.

Another victim was reported in the car as a 50-year-old black female. Both victims refused medical treatment, according to police. :rolleyes:

The incident happened in the 4400 block of N. Florissant.

A 911 caller reported that shots were fired between two vehicles near a gas station on Goodfellow and Natural Bridge around 3 a.m.

Man shot to death in St. Louis restaurant

ST. LOUIS -- St. Louis police are searching for suspects who shot and killed a man inside a north St. Louis restaurant.

The shooting happened Saturday afternoon. Police did not disclose the name of the restaurant, in the 4700 block of Goodfellow Boulevard.

Authorities say 22-year-old Cedrick Franklin was killed. He was shot several times in legs, arms and upper body.

Witnesses told authorities they saw two young men running from the restaurant, then getting into a black Cadillac Escalade. :rolleyes:

(KMOV.com) -- Police reported early Sunday morning three serious shooting, two of them fatal in north St. Louis.

St. Louis Police are investigating two homicides and a critical shooting all happening in what police said was a "violent weekend."

A man was shot and killed around 2 a.m. Saturday morning in the 2100 block of East Alice, according to police. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Then police reported Saturday afternoon Cedrick Franklin, 22, of the 3900 block of Kossuth, was shot and killed in the 4700 block of Goodfellow. Police said two suspects were seen driving away in a black SUV.

The third incident was reported by police happening just after midnight Sunday when a man was shot in the 4800 block of Anderson. Police said the 28-year-old victim is in critical and unstable condition.

Police did not release any information on suspects in connection to the incidents on Alice and Anderson.

(KMOV) – St. Louis Metro police are investigating after several people were shot in north St. Louis City Monday afternoon.

Police say three people were injured following a shooting on the 4500 block of Evans near Cora Street around 4:30 p.m.

According to authorities, an Africoon Americoon male wearing a ski mask and a dark hooded sweatshirt :rolleyes: emerged from a nearby alley and opened fire on the victims.

Two men and a woman were rushed to a nearby hospital where they are listed in critical condition. One victim is reportedly unstable at this time. According to police, the victims are in their mid 20s.

Authorities say the suspect allegedly used a large caliber handgun and fired several rounds at the victims.

Details into the motive or investigation were not immediately known.

(KMOV.com) -- St. Louis police are investigating after three people were shot in north St. Louis early Tuesday morning.

According to police, a woman in her 30’s and a teenage boy were shot in the legs in the 5400 block of Genevieve around 2 a.m. The other victim, a man in his 30s, was hit in the hip.

All victims were transported from the scene to Barnes Jewish Hospital in stable condition.

Authorities said they did not have a description of the gunman and continue to search for a suspect in the case.

O'Fallon, Mo., man found dead in pickup in St. Louis neighborhood

ST. LOUIS • Homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting near the intersection of Minerva and Burd avenues in the Hamilton Heights neighborhood.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 7 a.m. They found Bao Nguyen, 29, dead in a Nissan pickup truck on Burd about a half block north of Minerva.

Nguyen had been shot in the head and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The truck was parked in front of a several abandoned buildings. Police say the man was shot while in his truck. The driver's side door had been left open. Authorities had no suspects.

Nguyen lived in the 3000 block of Ridgetop Court in O'Fallon, Mo.

Florissant man found fatally shot in St. Louis street

ST. LOUIS • Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened this morning in the 4400 block of Labadie Avenue.

Homicide detectives were summoned at 8:14 a.m. after a man was found lying in the middle of the street suffering from several gunshot wounds, authorities say. He had been shot in the shoulder, head and neck and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police today identified the victim as Sean Jackson, 45, of the 4400 block of Portsmouth Manor Court in unincorporated St. Louis County, near Florissant.

Police said they had no suspects.

St. Louis man shot by pair demanding money

A 51-year-old St. Louis man was shot outside his house on Saturday by two young men who demanding money.

The incident happened about 11:35 a.m. on the 5600 block of Maffitt Avenue in the city's Wells-Goodfellow neighborhood. Police say the two suspects — both black with medium complexion, both wearing white T-shirts, one likely 18 to 20 years old — approached the victim on his porch and asked for money. When he said he had none, one of them shot him in the stomach.

The victim was listed in serious but stable condition Sunday at a hospital. An investigation is ongoing.

St. Louis man charged in 2009 killing in Baden neighborhood

ST. LOUIS • A St. Louis man has been charged in a 2009 fatal shooting in the city's Baden neighborhood.

Lorenzo Jones, 21, of the 8400 block of Lowell Street, was charged Monday with first-degree murder, first-degree assault and two counts of armed criminal action.

Darnell Craig, 40, of St. Louis was shot in the thigh the afternoon of March 3, 2009, in the 8400 block of Edna Street, police said. He ran from Jones, with Jones chasing him, and collapsed a couple blocks away in the 1200 block of McLaran Avenue. Craig died at a hospital. Police said in court documents Jones fired shots at but did not hit a woman, who was identified in court records only by her initials. She told police Jones killed Craig.

Police have not offered a motive in the killing. Jones was being held without bail at the St. Louis city jail.

Man shot in chest during holdup at St. Louis home

(KMOV) – Police are looking for four suspects after a man was shot during a holdup at a north St. Louis home late Wednesday night.

Authorities said a 32-year-old man was standing on his porch in the 2500 block of Montgomery St. around 10:15 p.m. when four men approached and announced a robbery.

Police said at least one of the suspects shot the man twice in the chest. The suspects then took his property and fled the scene in a dark-colored car.

The victim was transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

His identity was unknown.

(KMOV) -- St. Louis Police are investigating a homicide in North St. Louis City.

St. Louis Police reported responding to a call for shots fired and found a victim suffering from severe gunshot wounds to his head and back.

Witnesses said they heard gunshots and went outside to find the victim had been struck.

The 46-year-old victim, Bryant Ballard was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 2100 block of East Alice.

Police are still looking for suspects involved in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.

ST. LOUIS • A man and a woman were dead after a shooting Friday night in the 4200 block of East Kossuth Avenue in north St. Louis.

The shooting happened at about 8:45 p.m. A third victim was shot in the leg but was in stable condition, police said.

ST. LOUIS (KMOV.com) – A 21-year-old man has been charged with murder and several other counts for his involvement in a quadruple shooting late Saturday in North St. Louis that has left one man dead.

The Circuit Attorney's Office issued warrants against Darnell Hollings for first-degree murder, six counts of first-degree assault and seven counts of armed criminal action, shooting from a moving vehicle and felon in possession of a weapon.

St. Louis Metro Police told News 4 that officers responded to a call in the 5000 block of Durant just before midnight. Police reports say that the four victims were discovered lying in the street suffering from gunshot wounds.

One victim, Carnez Winslett, a 36-year-old black male, suffered a gunshot wound to the chest. Winslett was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A second victim, a 21-year-old male, suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen. He was taken to an area hospital where he is currently listed in serious condition.

The other two victims, 38 and 49-year-old men, each suffered a single gunshot wound, according to reports. They are currently listed in stable condition.

Reports say the incident began when two groups were arguing on the street. Hollings allegedly pulled out a gun and opened fire. Witnesses tell police he was seen leaving the scene in a silver 4-door sedan.

(KMOV) –Charges were issued on Wednesday in the shooting death of a nine-year-old boy in north St. Louis on July 10.

Authorities issued charges against Marquan D Bland, 22, for first-degree murder, four counts of armed criminal action, three counts of first-degree assault, firing a weapon from a motor vehicle and first-degree tampering.

Police say said the victim, Tyrese Short, was a passenger in a vehicle traveling south on Goodfellow near Lillian just before 3:30 a.m. when at least one shot was fired into the car.

ST. LOUIS • Police have identified a woman who was found shot to death Sunday night in the 5200 block of Blair Avenue.

The woman was identified Monday as Monica Collins, 29, of the 1500 block of Fourth Street in Madison.

Collins was found on the steps of a vacant home at about 10 p.m. Sunday.

She had been shot several times, including in the head.

Woman and man fatally shot outside St. Louis sports bar

A man and woman were shot and killed in the 1800 block of McLaran Avenue early Sunday morning.

St. Louis police said the two victims attended an event separately at Starz Bar, 8734 Goodfellow Boulevard.

Police identified the dead man as Timothy Blair, 45, of the 9000 block of Torch Run in north St. Louis County. The woman was identified as Kemesa Newble, 32, of the 3400 block of Brady Avenue in East St. Louis.

Police said while inside the bar, a fight occurred between several individuals. All of the patrons were asked to leave the bar.

Blair was standing with a group of men when he was shot in the abdomen by an unknown male who had approached from the south side of the street.

Newble was seated inside her vehicle facing eastbound on McLaran Avenue when two males began shooting at each other. Newble was caught in the crossfire and was shot in the armpit, police said. She was driven from the scene by a relative, but was located at Park and West Florissant Avenue inside of the vehicle.

Both shooting victims were transported to a hospital, where they were pronounced dead.

The gunmen fled on foot. Anyone who may have information in the fatal shootings is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 866-371-8477.

The area was also the site of a fatal shooting on March 6, 2012. Dominic Johnson was shot outside the bar just after 12:10 a.m. in that incident.

ST. LOUIS • Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the 3800 block of Labadie Avenue.

Police identified the victim as Christopher Henderson-Jones, 23, of the 7500 block of Michigan Avenue.

Police said Jones was standing on Labadie when someone fired several shots at him. He was hit in the chest, pelvis and hip. He was found lying face down on a vacant lot at 1:12 p.m. Friday.

(KMOV.com) – Police are investigating after a man was shot while trying to sell an electronic device in north St. Louis on Saturday afternoon.

According to authorities, the 24-year-old victim was trying to sell an electronic tablet to a known male shortly before he was shot trying to leave the scene in the 6300 block of Laura around 3:30 p.m.

The victim drove to a relative’s house to notify police after suffering a gunshot wound in the back. He was then transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The suspect was described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 22 and stands between 5'5" and 5'7". He is described as having a thin build and was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Authorities state the victim gave conflicting statements about the incident and consider the investigation ongoing.
