Video shows shooting of teen at Harlem bus stop

Shocking video captures the moment a gunman opened fire on a 14-year-old boy — grazing him in the head — just as he boarded an MTA bus in Harlem.
The teen was getting on an M1 bus on West 139th Street near Malcolm X Boulevard just before 10 a.m. Oct. 14 when the suspect discharged two rounds at him, cops said.
The brief clip, released late Wednesday, shows the gunman standing on the sidewalk and lunging just over the curb to fire at the bus on the street.
Police said at the time that the gunman trailed the boy down the block before he opened fire at the front entrance of the bus.
The teen was grazed on the left side of his head and taken to Harlem Hospital in stable condition.
One of the rounds hit the protective shield near the driver inside the bus, said Deputy Inspector Peter Fiorillo of the Detective Bureau Manhattan North. Another bullet struck the windshield directly in front of the driver, a 39-year-old man with four-and-a-half years on the job.

“The bus operator barrier stopped one of the bullets, otherwise there could have been more serious consequences,” MTA President Craig Cipriano said at a press conference at the time.
The driver suffered a hand injury, officials said. The incident came amid a spate of violence involving young victims across the city.
