A city patrolman helped capture a bank robber Friday afternoon.

The Chattanooga Police Department and the FBI are investigating the robbery that occurred just after noon.

The teller took the money from her cash drawer and gave it to the robber. The robber then left the bank on foot.

spotted a man matching the robbers? description, police said.

The officer tried to talk to the black male, but he tried to elude police by running. A short distance later he was taken into custody, with the bank?s money still tucked inside his clothes.

The suspect is Rufus Armstrong Foy, Jr. He is a black male in his 50?s.
