This is the moment a brazen thief uses a rock to smash the window of a Bronx Popeyes — and rip off a safe holding $2,000.
Video released by cops late Tuesday shows the suspect repeatedly chucking the stone at the window of the fast-food joint on Third Avenue near East 148th Street in Mott Haven around 6 a.m. Oct. 10 — until he created a big enough opening to creep through, according to the clip released late Tuesday.

He then crawls on the floor and shimmies through the opening of the Plexiglas barrier on the counter, the footage shows.
Once inside a back room, the suspect picks up a safe with $2,000 inside, the clip shows.
He then ran off, safe in tow, according to cops.
The thief manages to get into the office where the safe is located, picks it up and slips out the back of the store.NYPD
Cops are still looking for the suspect — who at the start of the clip is wearing a Fila brand jacket and jeans.
When he left the eatery, the jacket was gone, and he simply wore a long-sleeved gray shirt.
