A 16-year-old gang member who’s been busted on gun charges twice in the past eight months was nabbed for opening fire on another teen near a Brooklyn high school, police said Tuesday.The teen, a reputed member of the G-Stone Crips whose name wasn’t released because of his age, squeezed off a shot at a 17-year-old boy he had a dispute with at East 26th Street and Glenwood Road outside Midwood High School shortly after 10 a.m. Monday, cops said.
One of the teens told the other to head outside to settle a beef and surveillance video showed them shooting at each other, according to law enforcement sources. School personnel heard three or four shots and the school was placed on lockdown.
Both teens took off on foot and the 16-year-old was arrested when cops found him in a nearby apartment building, the sources said.
The 17-year-old gunman is still in the wind, police said.
The arrested teen allegedly tried to stash his black and silver semi-automatic 9mm Glock 48 in the building’s stairwell but cops found it.
He was also busted for possession of a firearm on March 10. Just over two months later, on May 20, he was arrested again after he fired a round that activated a ShotSpotter alert, police said.

Courtesy of @nypdsheaIn the most recent bust, the teenager was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, reckless endangerment, criminal possession of a firearm and two counts of menacing, police said.
Midwood does not have metal detectors and both boys were believed to have had their guns inside the school based on the amount of time between when they left the building and when shots were fired, according to law enforcement sources.
Midwood was also down school safety agents from around from about 14 to eight when the shooting occurred, the sources said.
Five guns have been confiscated from students in city schools in the past week, a police source said.
The spate of gun incidents has one school safety advocate demanding that the city do more.
“Incidents such as yesterday and the past week involving guns in schools are precisely why we demand that every middle school and high school have scanners and metal detectors,” said Mona Davids of the NYC Parents Union. “The safety of our children is paramount and we need the mayor to hire more school safety agents.”
NYPD Police Commissioner Dermot Shea tweeted about the teen’s case Tuesday, with a picture of the alleged weapon.
“After shots rang out yesterday near a #Brooklyn school, @NYPDBklynSouth & @NYPD70Pct cops quickly took a 16-year-old shooter & this 9mm Glock into custody. Already familiar with the justice system, he has 3 unsealed gun arrests in just the last 8 months,” he tweeted.
