Suspected serial rapist arrested

Police this morning arrested a 26-year-old man they said was responsible for six rapes in the Kensington and Hunting Park sections of the city in 2001.
Capt. John Darby said Donte Holland used to the same method to approach his victims. He would tell them he was a police officer and tell them they were suspects. In all but one case, the women would get into his car voluntarily and be forced to have sex or be arrested.
The one victim who resisted, a 17-year-old, was
orced into the car after he put a nightstick to her throat.
Holland would then drive to a secluded place, parked his vehicle against a fence or a wall so they would not be able to escape
, and assaulted
them.
Police said he used condoms in all the assaults, but left
two of them behind. DNA evidence from those two condoms led investigators to Holland, police said.
Holland was in custody yesterday. He was charged with multiple counts of rape, robbery, kidnapping, aggravated and simple assualt and related offenses.
