Apr 12, 2004 -- In Loudoun's first reported gang-related incident this year, a Sterling man and his wife were assaulted outside their home Sunday morning after they had tried to help their son who was fighting with a group of Hispanic males.
"nvestigators believe the incident is gang-related, said Loudoun Sheriff's Office spokesman Kraig Troxell.

The 50-year-old man and his 57-year-old wife walked out of their Sterling home on Sherwood Court at about 1 a.m. where they attempted to aid their 28-year-old son who was being attacked by the mob of people.

The husband was stabbed several times and was transported to Inova Fairfax Hospital. His son also was injured in the fight and tran
ported to the same hospital. Both were listed in stable condition Monday. The wife was taken to Loudoun Hospital where she was treated and released.
