Three shot in two separate incidents

Three men were shot in the span of 15 minutes in two separate incidents in the Queensborough section of Shreveport on Sunday afternoon, police said.

The first incident happened in the 2900 block of Jackson Street at about 2:45 p.m., when a man fired a handgun at 37-year-old Demarcitana McNeil, of Shreveport, hitting him in the arm. McNeil and the shooter had been arguing, police said.

McNeil was driven by private automobile to Willis-Knighton Medical Center on Greenwood Road. He had nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.

Police say they are looking for a black man with a dark complexion, standing 5-feet, 9-inches tall, and weighing about 200 pounds in connection with the shooting. Police
r
added that McNeil was not cooperating with the inve
stigation.

About 15 minutes later on Portland Avenue near the intersection with Lakeshore Drive, a confrontation was happening that would also yield bloody results.

Two men in a brown four-door sedan confronted a third man near Airline Liquor, police said.

One of the two men pulled a revolver and shot the third man in the face, police said. The shooter then apparently shot himself in the leg accidently.

The victim, who's name was not immediately released, was taken to LSU Hospital in Shreveport, police said. He was undergoing surgery late in the evening. His condition is not known.

The shooter showed up at Willis-Knighton Medical Center where police took him into custody, police said. His name was not immediately released.
