Man Broke Plastic Gun Over Woman's Head, Deputies Say

DeBARY, Fla. -- A man tackled an Orlando woman who attempted to rob him in his driveway with a fake gun that broke into pieces when he busted it over her head, deputies said.

According to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office, the man pulled into his driveway in DeBary after cashing a check Wednesday night and was confronted by the woman, who pointed a gun at him.

The 50-year-old man hesitated,
and the woman cocked the gun, which made an odd "plastic" sound, deputies said. The man then chased the woman across the street, tackled her and hit her over the head with her gun, which was fake and broke into several pieces, according to the sheriff's office.

The man then called 911 while keeping the woman pinned down, deputies said.

Deputies identified the woman as Cordera Bracy, 22, of Orlando. She was charged with armed robbery and possession of cocaine. Bracy was transported to the Volusia County Branch Jail in Daytona Beach.
