CLEVELAND, Ohio – A man charged with stabbing a Cuyahoga Falls mother to death in her backyard last summer is now linked to an unsolved Cleveland rape reported in 2006. The connection was made after the woman's rape kit, which was sent for testing last year as part of a statewide sexual assault kit testing initiative, was matched to Jeffery Conrad. The 44-year-old is set to stand trial in Summit County this month and is charged with aggravated murder in Amanda Russell's death. He is representing himself. Russell's 14-year-old daughter found her in the family's driveway on Aug. 28. Russell had been stabbed in the back and neck more than 50 times. Conrad now faces charges of rape, kidnapping and attempted murder, reported by a 30-year-old woman who was homeless. - (Black-on-white)
