The birthdays of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee, Gen. Thomas Jonathan “Stonewall” Jackson and Commodore Matthew Fontaine Maury will be celebrated Saturday, January 17th at an annual event hosted by the local United Daughters of the Confederacy and Sons of the Confederacy.
For the seventh consecutive year, UDC Chapter 257 and the Gen. John C. Brown SCV Camp 112 will sell chili and chicken stew, beginning at 5pm at First Presbyterian Church.
The cost of $5 includes homemade chili or chicken stew, homemade desserts and a drink. Carry-out will be available.
Tickets may be bought in advance from any UDC or SCV member or they will be available at the door.
