NEWARK, Del. -- A Delaware police officer driving through a highway service area witnessed a man urinating in public, and authorities later found out he was a wanted fugitive in another state.
Ernest Dedmond, 32, of Philadelphia, apparently urinated in public Sunday evening although Interstate 95 service area bathrooms were only several feet away.
A routine computer check found Dedmond was wanted by Philadelphia police in connection to an aggravated assaulted with a gun, a felony.
Police detained Dedmond and processed him as an out-of-state fugitive. He was ordered detained at the Howard Young Correctional Institute pending an extradition hearing.
