Vehicle rams boy in theft attempt

STOCKTON - A 17-year-old boy on a bicycle was rammed into a pole by a vehicle carrying several males who earlier tried to take the bike and the boy's money, police reported.

The boy was riding the bicycle in the 100 block of East Magnolia Street about 8:18 p.m. Tuesday when as many as four males demanded his bicycle and money, according to a Stockton police report.

The four got into a green Chevrolet Monte Carlo with 20- or 22-inch rims and tinted windows and rammed the boy into the pole. The police report did not indicate if the boy was hurt.

The car then went west on Magnolia Street.

Police described the driver of the car was a dark-complexioned black man in h
is early 20s with a scar by his right ear, a pierced right eyebrow and two pierced ears with red "F" earrings. He had a moustache and goatee, long sideburns and bloodshot eyes.

Passengers in the car were black males in their late teens all wearing white T-shirts. One of them had a 6-inch Afro hairstyle.

Police spotted a similar car shortly after 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Monte Diablo and Kingsley avenues, not far from Louis Park.

Two Stockton police officers tried to stop the car for a traffic violation, but the car sped off, and a car chase followed for less than a minute.

The car stopped, and three males wearing white T-shirts got out and escaped. Police towed the car.
