Multiple Arrests Made In Attacks On Elderly
JACKSON, Miss. -- Four men have been arrested and charged in connection with home invasions involved elderly victims.
Leroy Fleming was arrested Wednesday in connection with the incidents.
In November, Jabari Moffett, Tremaine Pettaway and Nicholas Crumley were arrested and charged with burglary.
But the Jackson Police Department has left the investigation open because police think the men are responsible for other crimes.
Witnesses said that on Oct. 31, at least two of the men climbed through a widow to get into a River Oak home. The 85-year-old victim said she thought it was a Halloween prank because the men were wearing masks. She's moved out of the house since then put it up for sale.
But that's not the case for the other elderly woman who was attacked. Her neighbors at the Diplomat Apartments said the victim is having a hard time dealing with the attack, which happened on Oct. 30.
The men stole her purse and pushed her down so hard that she broke a shoulder, police said.
"This lady is traumatized for the rest of her life. She's 80-something, and they broke her shoulder -- it's senseless," neighbor Barry Kendrick said.
Fleming and Pettaway are being held at the Raymond Detention Center without bond.
Crumley has bonded out of jail.
Moffett is being held on a $50,000 bond.
