Sex offender arrested in Tinley Park assault

Police have arrested a suspect in last week's attack on a teenager in Tinley Park. Investigators are trying to determine if he was involved in another assault there last month.
Antonio Williams, 32, of Chicago was arrested near a relative's home on the South Side Friday after an extensive manhunt and charged with aggravated criminal sexual assault, authorities said.
"He was on the move constantly, and he wasn't in one place for a long time," said Tinley Park Police Cmdr. Philip Valois.

Williams, a registered sex offender, was staying with his brother in the 7300 block of Sandalwood
Drive in Tinley Park when he allegedly assaulted a 15-year-old girl June 6 in an adjacent apartment, police said.
The girl said she knew Williams and opened the door for him after he knocked, police said. A warrant for Williams was issued Thursday, but police were unable to locate him for days.
"I've fielded a couple calls from citizens and the victims' families, and we are all relieved that he is in custody," Valois said. "Everyone's relieved."
Investigators are now trying to determine if Williams was involved in an assault May 28 of a 16-year-old girl, also in Tinley Park.
Williams was being held at the Tinley Park Police Department.
A bond hearing was scheduled for Monday in Bridgeview.
