KRON, Ohio -- Police arrested Canton native and Indianapolis Colts defensive back Mike Doss outside Canal Park early Sunday on several gun charges.

Officers heard five or six shots coming from outside a downtown restaurant around 2:20 a.m. Police patrolling the area heard five to six gunshots and responded to the scene, NewsChannel5 reported.

They found shell casings in the area and a gun in Doss' vehicle, according to a statement from the Akron Police Department.

Doss, 24, was charged with carrying a concealed weapon, discharging a firearm within city
limits, inducing panic and obstructing official business.

He posted bond and was released pending a court appearance.

Two of his relatives were also arrested.

Doss is a third-year pro who won a national championship at Ohio State in 2002.
