Newport News Black Charged With Rape

A Newport News man is facing charges after police he raped a woman Friday night.
Carlos Montrevil, 39, is charged with rape and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
According to authorities, an off-duty Newport News police offer was working at the Motel 6 in the 700 block of J. Clyde Morris Boulevard when he heard a woman screaming from inside a room around 3:00am.
The 36-year
old Newport News female claimed she had been raped by Montrevil, who was still in the room when the officer entered.
While the rape was occurring, the woman claims her dog, a pitbull mix, attempted

to attack Montrevil. She told the officer that Montrevil shot and killed the dog.
The dog's body was foun
d deceased in the hotel room from an apparant gunshot wound.
At this time, officials say Montrevil has not been charged in reference to the killing of the dog.
