Tampa Police arrest rape suspect

Tampa Police have charged Darryl Williams with sexual battery, home invasion and robbery after he allegedly severely beat and raped a 66-year-old woman who uses a walker.

Williams appeared in court Tuesday.

Detectives say Williams, 26, broke into the victim's home and beat her in the face until she was knocked unconscious and then raped her.

Police said the elderly victim
fought back but couldn't fend off Williams.

Police said Williams lived in the same neighborhood his victim was visiting and they believe he had been watching her and knew she was disabled.



Detectives are checking to see if Williams is connected to other rapes in Tampa.
