Police Identify Suspects In Mid-1990s Rapes

NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans police have issued arrest warrants for two men wanted in connection with two separate sexual assault investigations.
Charles Jones
The first attack occurred in July of 1995. According to investigators, Charles Jones, 41, picked up a 38-year-old female acquaintance and brought her to the 2600 block of General Meyer Avenue, where he held her against her will.
Police said Jones attacked the woman with a belt and tried to rape her.
He faces charges of aggravated k
idnapping and attempted aggravated rape.

The second attack occurred in September of 1996. Police said Aaron Taylor, 37, forced his way into a woman's home in the 2200 block of Chartres Street and sexually assaulted her.
Taylor faces charges of aggravated rape and aggravated burglary.
Crimestoppers, at (504) 822-1111, is offering up to a $2,500 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment. Callers do not have to gives their names or testify in court to receive the reward.
