School Bathroom Beating Caught on Tape

HERCULES (AP) -- The beating last week of a 17-year-old boy by two other teenagers in a high school bathroom has this San Francisco suburb in an uproar after learning the attack was videotaped and posted on the Internet.
Hassan Rahgozar, 17, suffered a broken jaw on Friday afternoon after he was ambushed by a classmate and another unidentified adult male at Hercules High School, according to police.
Scenes of Rahgozar being struck multiple times in the face were recorded by an unidentified photographer a
nd later posted on Putfile.com, which Rahgozar's mother, Lorena Cruz, called "really disturbing," according
to the Contra Costa Times.
A spokesman for Putfile LTD said the company would remove material if it received complaints, but the video was still viewable Thursday.
Police said Wednesday they had arrested one suspect, a juvenile, and continue to search for another assailant, who they believe to be an adult.
The juvenile attacker was suspended in April for his involvement in another fight. The beating was an apparent retaliation attack after it was revealed that Rahgozar provided information to school officials about the previous fight, the Times reported.
Authorities on Thursday did not immediately return telephone calls from The Associated Press.
