A Yemeni man with links to a Long Island jihadist pleaded guilty in a Brooklyn court Tuesday to supporting terrorism.
Ali al-Hamidi was charged with fighting US forces in Iraq and Pakistan on behalf of al Qaeda.
He told Brooklyn federal Judge Nicholas Garaufis that he fought Americans between 2007 and 2009, and received military training in the al Qaeda-infested Waziristan region of Pakistan.
During his travels, Al-Hamidi befriended Suffolk County jihadist Bryant Vinas and recommended him for admission to the terrorist group, according to the feds.
Al-Hamidi faces up to life behind bars.
