A 29-year-old woman narrowly escaped being raped on the New York City subway Friday evening after an unhinged stranger approached her with his penis exposed, punched her and pinned her to the ground.
The disturbed stranger exposed himself to the victim on the southbound J train at the Chambers Street subway station near City Hall just after 9 p.m. on Friday, cops said.
The suspect then tried to remove the woman’s clothing and attempted to force her to perform oral sex before punching her and pinning her to the ground, cops said.
The violent perv also stole the woman’s cellphone, money and keys, cops said.
After the struggle, the victim was able to run to safety off of the train. The attacker remained on the train as it headed southbound, cops said.
EMS responded to the scene and took the victim to the hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.
New York City Police are still in pursuit of the attacker, who they describe as a male with a dark complexion between the ages of 30 and 40.
He is approximately five-foot-six or five-foot-seven and was last seen wearing a navy blue hooded sweatshirt and pants, black and white sneakers and a white face mask.
Photos of the attacker also show him carrying a greenish-gray backpack.
