Jobs rate up for WA women

July 8, 2011

West Australian employers are on a woman-hiring binge, taking the State's jobless rate for women below that of men.
The Australian Bureau of Statistics reported yesterday that 59,000 people nationally found full-time work in June after heavy falls in preceding months.
It kept the jobless rate steady at 4.9 per cent.
In WA, the unemployment rate went down to 4.2 per cent.
The unemployment rate in WA among women - now at 4 per cent - was below that of men, which rose slightly to 4.3 per cent.
