In a video that circulated online on Friday, Alabama Representative Mo Brooks told supporters that an entrenched system of corruption prevents Congress from passing legislation that would benefit the average American. Brooks said that both parties charge their members $1 million and beyond for chairmanships of committees, and that only those taking donations from lobbyists can afford these seats.
“Special interest groups run Washington, and I don’t mean that metaphorically. I mean literally,” Brooks told supporters at an event in March, video footage of which was shared on Friday by [progressive] pundit Lauren Windsor.

According to Brooks, lawmakers who want to be chairman of a major committee “have to purchase it.” Either the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) or Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) will charge members of Congress a fee to chair a committee for two years.
The fee varies depending on how important the committee is, but bidding for a top-tier chairmanship starts at $1 million, Brooks claimed. One unnamed candidate running to lead the NRCC literally showed representatives “a brochure” of his prices, Brooks claimed, explaining that the prospective NRCC chief had broken his pricing down into three tiers, and boasted that he would charge less than other candidates.
Those who can’t afford to cough up a million dollars take donations from special interest groups, and are then beholden to these lobbyists once in office, Brooks continued.
“Now you understand how the public policy debate is so corrupted,” he said.
Party officials deny that payments are linked to committee assignments, and refer to this system as paying “dues.” However, it has come under criticism before.
“They told us right off the bat as soon as we get here, ‘These committees all have prices and don’t pick an expensive one if you can’t make the payments,’ ” Kentucky Representative Thomas Massie (R) said in 2016, referring to the payments as “extortion” and refusing to pay up.
Massie also described in 2016 how, earlier in his political career, a lobbyist from “the medical device sector” offered to pay for his seat on the House Ways and Means Committee, a powerful slot that would see the Kentucky Republican shape tax policy. The unspoken implication, Massie wrote, was that he would then owe the lobbyist his favor.
“It was one of the scummiest meetings I’ve ever been in,” Massie said. “I left just reeling, thinking about the implications for how this place works, when you realize that the lobbyists pick who goes on which committee.”
Neither Brooks nor Massie represent the mainstream of the Republican Party. Brooks, who is currently running for the US Senate, is viewed as a “MAGA” candidate by establishment Republicans, yet has also been sidelined by Donald Trump himself, who withdrew his endorsement of the Alabama lawmaker last month due to Brooks’ insistence that the GOP move past Trump’s claims of fraud in the 2020 election.
Massie has quarreled with Trump before, but has drawn particular ire from hawkish establishment Republicans in recent weeks over his refusal to back a resolution promising open-ended military aid to Ukraine and sanctions on Russia, which he argued would hurt “innocent people in Russia.” [Note: RT incorrectly described the poster of the video, Lauren Windsor, as a “conservative pundit” in the second paragraph. I corrected it to progressive pundit.]

Perhaps not surprisingly, this video — even though it was put out by a progressive activist — is being completely ignored.

Windsor runs a Democrat knockoff of Project Veritas targeting Republicans but her stunts(like the hoax alt-right Charlottesville rally for Glenn Youngkin) always seem to massively backfire.

In this case, this “undercover” video — which appears to just be Mo Brooks talking openly and honestly to his constituents at a public event — makes him look like one of the only honest men in Washington.

The Digital Services Act (DSA) — the second part of a massive project to regulate tech companies — aims to ensure tougher consequences for platforms and websites that host a long list of banned content ranging from hate speech to disinformation and child sexual abuse images.
[…] Tech giants have been repeatedly called out for failing to police their platforms — a New Zealand terrorist attack that was live-streamed on Facebook in 2019 caused global outrage, and the chaotic insurrection in the US last year was promoted online.
The dark side of the internet also includes e-commerce platforms filled with counterfeit or defective products.
[…] The regulation will require platforms to swiftly remove illegal content as soon as they are aware of its existence. Social networks would have to suspend users who frequently breach the law.
The DSA will force e-commerce sites to verify the identity of suppliers before proposing their products.
[…] The European Commission will oversee yearly audits [of Big Tech firms] and be able to impose fines of up to six percent of their annual sales for repeated infringements.

Looking over the outline of the new agreement it’s striking how they seamlessly conflate child sexual abuse material with “illegal hate speech.”

Both are jumbled together as “illegal content.”

The law calls for plans to restrict free speech on the internet during times of “crisis.”

The DSA also pushes for a “public electronic identity (eID),” which Politico previously described as a “National ID card” on your phone that has its origins in vaccine passports and “Digital COVID Certificates.”

Though the eID is sold under the guise of protecting people’s privacy, “digital rights activists … worry the proposal could allow the private sector to better access people’s government-certified information, thereby actually strengthening the likes of Facebook and Google and the targeted advertising industry,” Politico reported.

This law is the EU’s answer to the rising tide of populism and nationalism. Rather than offer any concessions to the masses, they’re imprisoning “far-right” leaders, outlawing “far-right” groups,sanctioning Hungarians to punish them for voting for Viktor Orban and launching witch hunts against Marine Le Pen to sabotage her election chances.

Big Tech platforms censored in favor of President Biden 646 times in two years​

Research shows.

Between March 10, 2020, and March 10, 2022, there were 646 instances where Big Tech has censored criticism of Biden, according to an analysis by the Media Research Center.

In its CensorTrack database, MRC recorded over 600 cases where Big Tech platforms censored criticism of Biden. 140 of those cases involved the New York Post’s story about Hunter Biden’s potentially corrupt foreign deals when his father was president.


Twitter censored the story by blocking it from getting shared, suspending the New York Post’s account for more than two weeks, and suspending any account that dared reference the story, which was authenticated by the liberal New York Times this year.

Most of the censorship cases, 232, surrounded criticism of Biden’s inappropriate behavior around kids and women. In one of the cases, Facebook deleted a post featuring three photos of Biden kissing his granddaughter on the lips. Facebook claimed the post violated its policy on “nudity or sexual activity.”

Big Tech platforms even went after posts quoting controversial and embarrassing statements made by the president. For example, Facebook deleted a video posted by Heritage Action showing Biden and officials from his administration saying his policies would result in an increase in fuel prices.

MRC’s analysis underscores Big Tech’s liberal bias and proves the lengths these companies will go to squash criticism of the president.

Former President Barack Obama says he would like to end free speech and has declared the First Amendment no longer has a place in America.

Following billionaire Elon Musk’s bid to buy Twitter and turn it into a free speech platform to protect democracy, Obama responded by saying that Twitter becoming a free speech platform would be a threat to democracy.

“Each of us, whether we work at a tech company or consume social media, whether we are a parent, a legislator, an advertiser on one of these platforms, now’s the time to pick a side,” Obama told Stanford University on Thursday. “We have a choice right now. Do we allow our democracy to wither or do we make it better?”
Based-politics.com reports: Obama then, bizarrely, tried to insist that, at heart, he is a free speech “absolutist.”

Obama said major social media companies need to play a more significant role in suppressing content.
“The bigger issue is what content these platforms promote,” Obama said. “Algorithms have evolved to the point where nobody on the outside of these companies can accurately predict what they’ll do, unless they’re really sophisticated and spend a lot of time tracking it. And sometimes, even the people who build them aren’t sure.”
“That’s a problem,” he insisted.
The government must regulate speech platforms to keep us “safe,” Obama claimed.
“In a democracy, we can rightly expect companies to subject the design of their products and services to some level of scrutiny,” the former president said. “At minimum, they should have to share that information with researchers and regulators who are charged with keeping the rest of us safe.”
Obama made the distinction between public and private companies when it comes to censorship as a key component of this debate. But what he didn’t confront is the glaring trend of the average Democratic voters agreeing with him about the need to censor “disinformation” on the internet. Obama ignored that much of what has been called disinformation in recent times included legit news and basic political expression.
Everyone is for free speech in theory, including believing that open and robust expression is key to any functioning democracy, as Obama noted. But if the Hunter Biden laptop story can be categorized as “disinformation,” and it clearly was. If the theory that COVID-19 might have originated in a Chinese lab can be called disinformation, and it was. If what Joe Rogan or Dave Chappelle say can be deemed false by left-leaning regulators at Twitter or in government…
How would that not be suppression of democratic free and open speech of the most basic kind? Of course it is, but opposition to free speech–outright scorn–runs throughout elite institutions and figures.

We NEED content moderation: Age limits for accounts. No tolerance of calls for violence. Prevention of terrorists organizing on social media.
That is not what Obama alluded to and polls show most Democratic voters truly want something far different: Suppression or outright censorship of views and positions they don’t agree with.

Obama specifically cited former President Donald Trump and other Republicans claiming the 2020 presidential election was stolen. I don’t believe this. But it is still free expression, just as it is when Hillary Clinton says Russia stole the election in 2016 (another conspiracy).
All of the above is basic political speech.
Obama asked Americans to “pick a side” in this debate. If one side is free expression that might include wackjobs claiming Kamala Harris is a secret lizard person accompanied by sane political news and opinion the left might not like. It’s that, or left-leaning (or right-leaning! Democrats won’t be in charge forever) government “regulators” who get to decide what Twitter and its users are allowed to see…
Bring on the lizard people. Every American who claims to value free speech should claim the former option. Free and open expression should be tolerated in the United States.

A global pact titled the “Declaration for the Future of the Internet” was launched on Thursday by the United States and co-signed by 55 other countries.

The Biden administration is once again placing globalism ahead of the U.S. Constitution.

The declaration is being labeled a “political commitment” intended to enact a “positive vision” for the internet as it faces “serious policy challenges.”

The document also claims Russia and China present a “dangerous new model of internet policy” while blatantly ignoring the extreme censorship taking place in nations like the UK, US and Canada.

“We are united by a belief in the potential of digital technologies to promote connectivity, democracy, peace, the rule of law, sustainable development, and the enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms,” the declaration states. “As we increasingly work, communicate, connect, engage, learn and enjoy leisure time using digital technologies, our reliance on open, free, global, interoperable, reliable, and secure internet will continue to grow.”

“Partners in this declaration intend to work toward an environment that reinforces our democratic systems and promotes active participation of every citizen in democratic processes, secures and protects individuals’ privacy, maintains secure and reliable connectivity, resists efforts to splinter the global internet, and promotes a free and competitive global economy,” the declaration continues.

The timing of the pact is also curious as the world has watched the global establishment freak out over Tesla founder Elon Musk’s recent purchase of the social media platform Twitter.

Musk commented, “Sounds like satire” on a post announcing the global internet declaration.

One noteworthy portion of the agreement is that the nations involved pledge to “work together to combat cybercrime, including cyber-enabled crime, and deter malicious cyber activity.”

This comes at a time when Infowars and others are warning of a massive false-flag cyberattack that could be used to further push the globe into the World Economic Forum’s Great Reset.

Additionally, DHS chief Alejandro Mayorkas announced the creation of a “disinformation governance board” on Wednesday.

The Department of Homeland Security’s new “disinformation” unit will be headed by a woman who says free speech makes her “shudder” and who falsely labeled the Hunter Biden laptop story disinformation.

This internet declaration is simply another globalist power grab at a time when the information war is heating up worldwide.

A CNN talking head declared Sunday that if Elon Musk is allowed to buy Twitter, the platform will have to be government regulated to prevent ‘discourse’ being open and free, and not subject to establishment controlled censorship.

While discussing the Musk take-over on CNN’s potato time with Brain Stelter, “media analyst” David Zurawik proclaimed that Musk is “dangerous” and shouldn’t be allowed to restore free speech on the platform.


Zurawik suggested that the U.S. look to Europe, which has recently brought in new laws to limit social media, and even threatened to ban Twitter if Musk doesn’t play ball.

“There’s a bigger problem here about how we’re going to control the channels of communications in this country,” Zurawik frothed, panicking at the notion of the likes of CNN not being able to dictate what Americans think.

“This is dangerous! We can’t think anymore in this country!” Zurawik whined, adding “I’m serious! We don’t have people in Congress who can make regulations, that can make it work.”

“I think we can look to the Western countries in Europe for how they are trying to limit it. But you need controls on this,” the talking slap head continued.

“You need regulation. You cannot let these guys control discourse in this country or we are headed to hell,” Zurawik further suggested.

“We are there,” he added, further claiming that “Trump opened the gates of hell and now they’re chasing us down.”



“We gave over what amounts to our airwaves or our internet waves to Mark Zuckerberg and Elon Musk, and we are in so much trouble because those guys believe in making money,” he said.

As Elon Musk threatens the left’s propaganda apparatus, the world’s most influential leftist is looking to stymie the influence of the world’s wealthiest man.

According to Fox Business:

Multiple left-wing groups backed by teachers’ unions and George Soros have signed a letter pressuring Twitter’s top advertisers to boycott the social media platform if Elon Musk goes through with his promise to uphold free speech.
A letter to brands signed by 26 groups, including Media Matters for America and UltraViolet, said marketers should make sure advertising deals made with Twitter are contingent that it will uphold its previous content moderation policies regarding hateful conduct.

The hysterical letter warns Musk’s Twitter takeover will “further toxify” the information ecosystem, as if it could get any worse. “Under the guise of ‘free speech, [Musk’s] vision will silence and endanger marginalized communities, and tear at the fraying fabric of democracy” the anti-free speech letter continues. With no self-awareness, the letter than warns that this comes at a time when trust in the media, which is nearly entirely run by leftists, is already at an all-time low.

Many of the groups that signed the letter have been financially backed by George Soros’ Open Society Foundations and teachers’ unions, including the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and National Education Association (NEA). NARAL Pro-Choice America, a pro-abortion nonprofit, is backed in part by AFT and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), according to Influence Watch. The Women’s March, a feminist group, is funded in part by AFT and the Soros-backed MoveOn. The groups Free Press and Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, which also signed the letter, are funded in part by Soros’ Open Society Institute.
Multiple European governments are also major donors to one of the letter’s signatories. Access Now, which discloses its funding online, is backed in part by the Swedish government’s development agency, Sida, the governments of Canada, Denmark, Germany and the Netherlands, as well as Soros’ Open Society Foundations.

Musk responded to the letter on Twitter, posting an article exposing the donors as Soros backed, and replied to a post from Soros’ Open Society Foundation telling the nonagenarian to message him to talk.

Soros’ grip on the media is already extensive. As I document in my book The Man Behind the Curtain: Inside the Secret Network of George Soros, publications and news companies represented by journalists that serve on Soros-funded boards include countless household names, such as the New York Times, Seattle Times, LA Times, Baltimore Sun, Wall Street Journal, CNN, Fortune Magazine, ABC, USA Today, the Washington Post, NPR, CBS, Huffington Post, New Yorker, Sacramento Bee, Houston Chronicle, Associated Press, and many more publications that reported critically on Musk’s Twitter takeover. And that’s in a media landscape where just seven percent of reporters identify as Republicans.
The corporate culture at big tech is overwhelmingly favorable to leftist causes too, with 90% of political donations from its workers going to Democrats. As previous reported, Agenda 2030 is a system of total, worldwide centralization of power influencing everything from governments to economies.

Part of how they want to impliment this is through a concept called the “sharing economy” in which people own less and less property.

“The sharing economy is essentially a communistic economy, but distilled down to a bizarre minimalism even people who lived in the Soviet Union did not have to experience,” Smith continued. “The structure is described as a kind of commune based society in which people live in Section 8-style housing, with shared kitchens, shared bathrooms, and barely any privacy.”

“All property is rented, or borrowed. All cars are borrowed and shared, most transit is mass transit, basic personal items such as computers, phones, and even cooking utensils might be shared or borrowed items.”

“As the WEF says, you will own nothing,” he added.

Given how unnatural this quality of life is, it shouldn’t be surprising then why the globalists are waging an all-out war against free speech on the Internet: they don’t want too much resistance to spread.

Canada’s broadcasting regulator confirms proposed online censorship bill will apply to user-generated content​

Reiterating the concerns that have been raised by creators, politicians, and platforms.

During a hearing on Canada’s attempt to regulate what users can say on the internet, Bill C-11 (The Online Streaming Act), the head of Canada’s broadcasting and telecommunications regulator again confirmed that the far-reaching regulations will apply to user-generated content.

Ever since the bill was announced, critics have been warning that it empowers the Canadian government to censor the content users post to social media platforms by forcing these platforms to abide by content rules set by Canada’s broadcasting and telecommunications regulator – the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC).


These fears were confirmed by CRTC Chairman Ian Scott earlier this month when he acknowledged that Bill C-11 would apply to user-generated content. And in an appearance at Tuesday’s Canadian Heritage committee hearing, Scott reaffirmed that Bill C-11 allows the CRTC to regulate “user uploaded content.”

CRTC General Counsel and Deputy Executive Director Rachelle Frenette subsequently attempted to downplay the CRTC powers under Bill C-11 by insisting that the regulations apply to platforms, not users. However, she admitted that the CRTC could “issue rules with respect to discoverability.”

Dr. Michael Geist, a law professor at the University of Ottawa, noted (link) that Frenette’s admission is “entirely consistent with the concerns of digital creators, namely that platforms will be required to develop outcomes that result in some content being prioritized in the name of discoverability.”

The critics of Bill C-11 include politicians, creators, and even pro-censorship Big Tech platforms.

Justin Tomchuk, who runs two YouTube channels with hundreds of thousands of collective subscribers, told the committee that Bill C-11 would “potentially destroy” the international visibility of his channels because it would “deprioritize Canadian content to an international audience.”


Canadian Conservative Party (CPC) Member of Parliament Dr. Leslyn Lewis has warned that the bill is “dangerous” and that it “will give the government power to control your internet choices and impose their own.”

And even YouTube and Twitter, which censor millions of their users’ posts each year, have warned that Bill C-11 goes too far. YouTube is pushing for user-generated content to be excluded from the bill while Twitter has likened the bill to the sweeping regulations that are imposed by authoritarian regimes such as China.

Despite these criticisms and multiple admissions by the CRTC that Bill C-11 will include user-generated content, Canadian Heritage Minister Pablo Rodriguez has responded to these concerns by claiming that “conservatives invent a lot of stuff.”

Facebook will prevent edits to ads dealing with social, political, or electoral issues that are approved to run in the week of the midterm elections, among a number of steps it is taking to build on and expand what it calls its 2020 election “safeguards” ahead of the midterms.
In a press release written by Facebook (now known as Meta) Global Affairs President Nick Clegg, the tech company which remains a pivotal force in disseminating news to Americans boasted of its efforts to “protect elections online,” not just in the United States but around the world.

Facebook said it would remove posts that encourage people not to vote, or question the legitimacy of the midterm elections, as well as “misinformation about the dates, locations, times, and methods of voting; misinformation about who can vote, whether a vote will be counted, and qualifications for voting; and calls for violence related to voting, voter registration, or the administration or outcome of an election.”
The company also boasted of the vast amounts of content it has censored in the name of fighting “hate,” a nebulous term that is frequently used by various private actors to suppress legitimate political discourse.
