Updated September 8, 2021 9:08amA gang member on parole was busted this week for the shocking gunpoint rape of a 70-year-old woman inside her Bronx apartment building, authorities said.
Reginald Bellot, 28, was arrested Tuesday and charged with rape, strangulation, predatory sexual assault, criminal sex act, menacing and unlawful imprisonment in connection to the sick July 27 attack, cops said.
The victim entered the stairwell of her Belmont building around 2 a.m. that day when Bellot approached her from behind, police said.
Bellot, wearing a black mask and another red plastic face covering, whipped out a firearm and raped the woman at gunpoint, then ran off, cops said.
The woman reported the attack nearly a week later, when she was treated for injuries at BronxCare Health System Hospital, cops said.

Police did not specify the gang with which Bellot is affiliated.
He was locked up in February 2018 in connection to an attempted robbery and prison contraband charge, state corrections records show.
Bellot, who was serving a sentence of one-and-a-half to six years, was released to parole this past February, according to the records.
He was also sentenced to two years behind bars on an attempted burglary charge in 2015, the records show.
