France: Prison sentence and fine for expressing racial opinions in an internet forum

COLMAR - A 20-year old woman has been given a suspended sentence of four months in prison by a civil court in the city of Colmar for having expressed racial opinions in a discussion forum on the internet, according to an Agence France Presse report.

The young woman living in the Lower Rhein region (Bas-Rhin) was on trial for expressing an unfavorable opinion of people of North-African and African origin numerous times during 2004 in a discussion forum.

Two anti-White groups, the International League Against Racism and Anti-Semitism (Ligue Internationale Contre le Racisme et l'Antis?mitisme - LICRA) and the Movement Against Racism and For the Friendship of the Peoples (Mouvement Contre le Racisme et pour l'
Amiti? entre les Peuples - MRAP), the claimants, discovered the posts through their internet surveillance activities.

As additional punishment, the woman has been ordered to pay 800 euros (about US$1,000) to the two anti-White organizations.
