DOE staffer accused of molesting teen boy in his apartment

A city Department of Education staffer who mentored dozens of Bronx teenagers was charged Friday with molesting a then-14-year-old boy in his apartment last year — and sources worry there could be more victims.
Malik Barr, a paraprofessional at The Highbridge Green School, created a student club called “The Gladiators” and occasionally hosted members at his Bronx apartment, a DOE whistleblower told The Post.
Many of the students in the group live in homeless shelters — and Barr presented the club as a welcoming brotherhood, sources said.
“A lot of these kids are stuck in the neighborhood,” Barr’s accuser, who had graduated from the Green School before the alleged assault took place, told The Post.
Barr, who has been removed from the school, did not return a call for comment.
