PHOENIX — The Glendale Police Department on Monday identified the suspect and victim in a fatal shooting that took place on Sunday.
Lionel Aaron Begay, 35, faces second-degree murder and other weapons charges in the fatal shooting of 44-year-old Mike Ohure, the Glendale Police Department said in a press release.
The incident occurred just before 2 p.m. at a house owned by Ohure near 59th and Northern avenues.
Begay allegedly got into a verbal argument with his girlfriend and pulled out a handgun, shooting Ohure multiple times when he tried to intervene.

Glendale Police said Ohure’s friends tried to take him to the hospital, but they got into a collision on the way. Officers responded to the collision and Ohure was transported to the hospital, where he later died.
Begay allegedly went back into the house after the shooting but left prior to officers arriving. He was later found in the neighborhood and taken into custody, authorities said.
