Woman charged with manslaughter in death of Six Flags worker

COBB COUNTY, Ga. – On January 11, 2024, authorities arrested a 27-year-old Austell woman for her role in the death of a 43-year-old Villa Rica woman who was thrown from her vehicle on October 1, 2023. The driver, Asia Danielle Hendricks, was traveling on a Six Flags Over Georgia park employee-only access road when Andrea Cook fell through the open sliding door of the 2004 Ford Econoline during a turn.
Law enforcement explained that Cook sustained “serious head injuries.” Park employees and EMS began rendering first aid before she was rushed to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Six Flags representatives confirmed that the incident occurred on Harbor Way, an employee-only street, and authorities determined that all occupants worked at the park. Hendricks’s arrest warrant revealed that the vehicle contained at least one juvenile.
In the days following the incident, Six Flags Over Georgia officials expressed, “Our hearts and our thoughts are extended to the family of the employee as well as all those impacted by this tragic automobile accident; we are heartbroken. Immediate support is being provided to those affected by the accident. The park will continue to provide full support and assistance to the Cobb County Police as they investigate the accident.”
Cobb County Police said Hendricks was escorting several of the park’s Fright Fest scare actors to their performance locations. The Econoline van did not feature any seats or seatbelts.
Crook’s husband explained to Atlanta News First that she leaves behind three daughters.
Hendricks faces charges including felony involuntary manslaughter and six counts of reckless conduct. The jail released her on a $27,720 bond.
This case is pending in court.
