BELTON — A Killeen man charged with the shooting death of Travis James Granger was indicted on a murder charge by a Bell County grand jury on Wednesday.
Keith Louis Marinnie Jr., 27, was arrested by Killeen police on May 5 and charged with murder. A witness told police he saw Marinnie and Granger arguing before he heard two gunshots and saw Granger lying in a field behind a 7-Eleven on the 1200 block of South Fort Hood. Granger was rushed to Metroplex Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by Bell County Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke at 11:08 a.m.
In a separate case, on May 19, 2016, Marinnie was indicted on a charge of driving while intoxicated, third offense or more.

He is currently in the Bell County Jail on $1 million bond.
Granger was the ninth homicide victim in Killeen in 2017. He was killed about 2.5 weeks after 19-year-old Fort Hood soldier Justin Lewis was found shot dead in an empty lot in downtown Killeen. Since Granger’s death, three more deaths are being investigated as homicides by the Killeen police. An arrest was made in one — the death of John Seth Jr. — and a suspect in another case was released by police after investigators determined that the man who shot and killed Raven Seymen Fisher, 23, did so out of self-defense.

In separate cases, the following were indicted by a Bell County grand jury Wednesday:

Wherever you have to go, just get away. Because there’s no fixing this. This can’t be fixed.”
