Seven men believed to be part of a robbery ring hijacking furniture trucks in northwest Atlanta were arrested Wednesday by Atlanta police.
Bridges Peterson, Otis South, Leon Watson, John Hill, Reginald White, James Redding and Anthony McKenzie were charged with robbery and made their first appearance in court Thursday after they attempted to steal a furniture truck being driven by undercover police officers, according to Atlanta police spokesman Sgt. John Quigley.
Quigley said police believe the men may be part of a r
ng that has robbed furniture trucks four times in July. Quigley said that in those robberies the suspects responded to newspaper ads advertising furniture for sale. When the furniture was delivered, they ro
bbed the truck at gunpoint, he said.
