Police identify man who was stabbed 25 times in Sunrise
Sunrise Police on Saturday identified the man who was stabbed about 25 times Friday night as Andrew Warren, 23.
Warren dialed 911 from his home in the 5900 block of Northwest 24th Place Friday night about 9:40 p.m. asking for help. When police officers arrived, they found him upstairs, bleeding from the wounds, from multiple stab wounds, Police Lt. Charles Vitale said.
Sunrise Fire Rescue medics worked to stabilize him and then had him flown to Broward General Medical Center in critical condition.
Warren was able to give a description of his attacker before he left for the hospital. He said the man was black, 25 to 30 years old, had a thin build, short hair and a Jamaican accent. The man was wearing a gray shirtand black pants, he said.
Detectives have not determined a motive for the crime, Vitale said. They found no evidence of a break-in, and they said they had no information that anyone else was home at the time of the attack.
