78-year-old woman attacked and sexually assaulted - police still looking for suspect

FULTON, KY -- It happened Sunday morning while the 78-year-old woman lay sleeping. That's when police say a man broke in and did more than just rob her. According to investigators, the suspect attacked and sexually assaulted his elderly victim.
Fulton Police Captain Jere Hughes tells Heartland News that they do have a suspect but he would not tell us if the man has been charged or is in custody. But, Captain Hughes did say the evidence gathered at the scene is mounting against him. Captain Jere Hughes says, The victim was a 78-year-old white female. The suspect was a black male in

It happened shortly after 6:00 o'clock Sunday morning. A 911 caller reported her mother's house had been broken into. The victim did receive injuries. But, the extent of th

se at this time do to the investigation. But, she has been treated and she is stable from the injuries that she received at the hands of her assailant." Captain Hughes said.
Residents of Fulton say the alleged attack makes them both angry and scared. Pam Kellermeyer says, Somebody of that age would attack an elderly person like that has no way of protecting themselves." Lance Scott says, "t's just wrong and I have elderly parents. It really worries me." Charles Kellermeyer says, " think something should be done about it. Really they should get the maximum sentence that they could give them."
Police would not tell us how the suspect got inside the home or what was allegedly stolen, but do say they found quite a bit of evidence an
