Teens face sodomy charges
FLORENCE – Three teenagers have been charged in connection with the assault and sodomy of an 18-year-old, authorities said.
Officials with the Lauderdale County sheriff’s department said the incident reportedly took place in early April at “Ghost Bridge,’’ which is located over Cypress Creek on a closed section of Old Jackson Road near the old Forks of Cypress Plantation site.
Sheriff’s Investigator Brad Potts said a 15-year-old Lauderdale County girl has been charged with two counts of first-degree sodomy, while two 17-year-olds identified as Nickalos Allen Pounders, 245 Commanchee Lane, Cherokee, and Jasman Quantez Shipley, 1480 First St., Leighton, were each charged with one-count of first-degree sodomy each.
Pounders and Shipley are being charged as adults.
